Hi, I am driving a E92 335i N54 and my turbos Hexon RR500 gave up. I also found part of one blade in my intercooler. Luckily. So its turbo time! I aim to stay twin turbo, with up to 600HP.
As I am from Europe, the logical options would be The Turbo Engineers TTE600 or Pure600. But I am not sure I like the torque curve in higher RPMs and spool. Then I found info about these VTT F-RB (lite for me). Spooling and top end look to be exactly what I need with plenty of headroom.
But as I have had the car since 2012 I read all the trashtalk and hates about VTT on various forums. I thought it ended but then I found another thread by a desperate Turkey VTT distributor who allegedly broke 4 turbos and ended happily with a Pure turbo. It looks like it has worse reputation than these ebay turbos...
So how is VTT today? Worth trying?

VTT is still a Chinese turbo distributor if that is what you are asking, they do not manufacture. Their quality seems to be the same as it always has been from posts you read online. Ask about Vargas on some facebook E9x/N54 groups and see the response you receive. This is what their 5th gen/company china turbo they are on now for the n54? With a childish naming convention to boot and anodized wheels for the instagram fuk bois. It's your money, do you like to gamble? Given there are companies with good reputations(that you obviously know of) for aftermarket N54 twins do you feel the need to roll the dice to save a few hundos?

My vote is Pure or RB if you want twins, again do what you will it is your time and money.

What fuel do you have available? If you want 600whp on a dynojet 93 pump alone is not going to get you there.

I am from germany and we have some options.

In germany TTE, Ladermanufaktur. One or two in Poland.

But they are all using the small (std sized) turbine housings. One of the biggest benefits are the bigger turbine housings as offered by VTT, RB, Hydra and Zage.

lol, thats not exactly what I wanted to hear :)

We have 100 RON petrol here and E85 available on very few stations.. I would be fine with 600 crank, I had 535HP with E60 and RR500.

what about HM turbotechnik? I found some heavy critics on a german forum (using google translator) regarding the owner. They seem to have interesting products, HM580, HM630 etc. Also, HM600 is 500eur cheaper than TTE600. But I just could not find any full logs. Not for TTE600 nor HM600..

If you keep it under 22psi pick any turbo you like except RB, mine first set failed within 1.5k and second set failed below the mileage warranty but over the time frame so he used that as an excuse not to fix them, but it didn't matter to him that my car set on the hoist for almost 3 months whilst he refurbished them and the mechanic had time, I was out of pocket for thousands as we had to pay for shipping there/back twice for his fuck up and install kits both times and labour.

Thats the reason I wanted to stay with european company originally. I helped tuning a F30 N55.. Pure stg2 was installed (pureturbos.eu), Motiv dialed it to 500HP but the turbo blew up few hundred kms later. Fortunately Pure repaired the turbo even though it took some time as the repair took place in USA.

NEVER ! NEVER go HM Turbotechnik. The biggest idiot in the german turbo scene!

Look for turbos with the bigger turbine housing as i stated.

I'm using VivAuto Parts 17T turbos since 2 years now and I'm super happy $1000 shipped to France with full E85 JB4 + BEF car makes 575hp on the dyno I need PI or overdrive to make more.

Look any turbo can fail but how the warranty is handled what sets them apart.

If you are overseas, typically the requirement for warranty from the vendor will be that you ship your turbos back to them for inspection. Keep that in mind. Whether you also have to pay for potentially new turbos to be shipped to you, I don't know. But this is a factor to consider relative to warranty concerns.
