MHD represents the best value for money investment on this platform I know, but theres things it cant do(yet?) like control the DCT, Launch etc etc

I have a DCT and SYVECs is one of the only real ways to control those boxes.
Who has one?
Are they as good as they need to be for the price you pay?
What are the advantages and drawbacks?

I have one. Its not installed yet, and wont be until I return to the USA at the end of September. (Overseas for work)

I have a basemap If you need it.

EDIT, so far I see a few minor drawbacks:

Not as many tuners at MHD.

Need to be able to read wiring diagrams, and build harnesses. I will be building my own harnesses for my port injectors, and flex fuel sensor. (This doesn't bother me, in a previous life I was an avionics tech). I can possibly help with harnesses if you need it.

Need to keep your stock DME laying around if you need to pass emissions.

Good things I see about Syvecs:

I think it can do Boost / Torque by gear

Rolling launch

Launch control

Can probably run any Ignition coil you want. Throttle body too.

No lift shift

No 6mt shift bog

Can tune live

Im probably forgetting a million other things it can do.

If a few others end up buying these, it would be nice if @doublespaces could make us a subsection on the board here to discuss / help each other out.

I believe Jake Hershorin has one in his hands, soon to be going in to his 1/2 mile car.

Correct me if im wrong, but im under the impression the Haltech controller does the same.

Sub forum would be good but there’s not many here that run standalones let alone SYVECS specifically @doublespaces

I thought that it’s plug and play ie no harness required ? Or do you mean for non standard stuff like PI ?

I only know of the syvecs doing it... any links ?

I used to have it but manual trans. Contact Andy divers at AD Engineering. He makes the harness for it. Its being used on a full blown drag car with zero issues so im sure itll work work you.

Yea, I know @DOC_Race currently purchased a Syvecs and will be running it on their shop car; and @AD-ENG got one of the first ones out. Neither shop used a DCT. All the example cars (the 800hp white 135i from the middle east) that have videos up of running a Syvecs on their N54 have been 6mt cars.

I'm looking at about another $1000 for my MHD investment to get me everything I want. I'm seriously thinking about just biting the bullet and stepping up to the Syvecs. Wayne Potts lives 15mi from me and is one of the top Syvecs tuners in the world. Race teams fly him all over the world to live tune their cars at events. He frequently heads to the middle east, Europe, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. All that is to explain that this guy's time is extremely costly. These $3-600 MHD tunes are such a bargain. You're looking at $2500 for the same level of attention from a top end Syvecs tuner. And if you need a couple days of specialized attention, then the cost of the Syvecs isn't a concern to you at all because you better be prepared to spend $5-10,000 just for tuning/dyno time.

MHD can currently do load/boost by gear. TQ Lim 2048 / shift bog delete public release is 1-2 weeks out. The rest will be a part of MHD this year, except live tuning which is 2019.

Yes sir thats him. I Ran the Haltech Platinum Sport 1000. I think you can choose between the Platnium sport or Elite series

Andy can come clarify this but I'm 99.99% positive that when he runs a Haltech the factory DME stays in place to run certain functions. It isn't configured or setup to run as a true standalone. Our Piezo DI Injectors are a bitch to control.

He uses the haltech for PI and boost control.

The N54 Syvecs kit works very well and gives you full control of the engine. The can bus integration is also correct and feeds/receives data as the stock DME does.

The N54 Syvecs kit is a S6plus ecu with a pnp patch harness. This allows the kit to be completely pnp WITH THE STOCK CONFIGURATION. Any changes in strategy or features will require both wiring and tuning changes (like any other pnp ecu).

The "kit" is primarily configured for Alpha N fueling because of how the stock dme and engine is configured. This is not a "con", but should be noted. I convert them to speed density before I start tuning. This requires both wiring, sensor, and calibration changes to the "pnp" kit.

Add inputs and outputs are straightforward and I would assume anyone in the market for a $5k ecu is either capable or has someone capable of these changes.

The biggest advantages over stock dme flashing are the ones most people dont realize they need:

1) "What you see is what you get." The values in the logs are accurate.
2) "full control of strategy." How the engine is tuned and what strategies are used to control it are user selectable.
3) "transparency." There are no behind the scenes tables you dont have access to that can influence the tune.
4) live tuning and logging at "usable" sample rates

My only complaint is the limit of inputs and outputs available.

Can't wait! It looks so good on the cars you've done already. Great work Jake
