You also don't want the turbo to sit any lower so it can gravity drain. Last thing you want is to have to install a pump imo.

lol.

You can make more power with the right T3 than I can with my T4 6466 fwiw. Just have to pick the right turbo. Not all T3s are small(many). Like a T3 Super 99 103LB per minute where my 6466 is only 90 IIRC.

living in the PNW im pretty octane limited (no e85, 92 e10 at the pump etc..) the t3 stuff is perfect for me ;)

Not to thread jack but can anyone comfirm if this leak is from the oil pan gasket? Mine has been weeping oil for a couple months but not enough to drip or anything. I had the motor supported from the oil pan for 4 weeks while I did the turbo install so could that have damaged the gasket enough to make it leave a small puddle on the ground after a couple hours? Seems to be dripping from the subframe and steering rack

Yes, that or the front crank seal. Clean it up and monitor.

>Front return looks moist too, but clean it all up (pressure wash/cleaner and a toothbrush/lick it)
And try and spot where it starts.

I could, but my exhaust is fully custom so it likely wouldn’t work for you lol. I have a single 3” that branches to dual 3” legs at the rear, one branch is a straight pipe and the other has a muffler. I’m using the OEM vacuum system to control 2 valves to switch between the branches

Finally got a downpipe made, but I can’t start tuning until I get the car out of limp mode. I have my BoostBox hooked up correctly so why am I getting these wastegate codes?

those are kinda unusual codes. I think you just need to recheck your connections (Mac solenoid to wg). I've been running this setup for over 5,000 miles and never ran into this. I feel i did you guys a disservice by not posting anything. I wanted to wait till all gremlins are sorted then post. Currently getting tuned by Jake@motiv and chasing down a 30ff. You'll also need adv or ntk o2 sensors. i burnt mine out in a week.

Do you have heat sinks on the 02s? Are you thinking about moving them to the downpipe? (Saw motiv was working on that)

What other issues did you run into?

I'm just getting everything together right now, Im ditching my old 6176 and got a Turbonetics 6262, manifold is due here next week or so :)

No sinks on the O2s. Adv sensors are designed for this purpose. I’m not sure how they’ll hold up I’ve time but I’ll c oss that bridge when I get there.
Other issue was engine mount to down pipe clearance, air filter fitment. For the former I just ordered a single turbo engine mount from ad eng. for the filter I just used a screen like most st guys are doing.

I'm a bit confused right now, aren't the N52 and N53 the same ports and bolt pattern as the N54? only the N55 has the lower bolts different?
Yes, all the n motors have the same ports, and they will seat. The bolt patterns vary, abviously bmw felt using turbos from one platform to another would be senseless, lol. If you were to use manifolds from one to another, you would have to drill the manifolds for the bolt pattern. The other issue would be if you were to able to acsess the nut once it's on. This has been an ongoing issue for n52 guys looking to turbo, no one makes a specific manifold, so unless there is a manifold built with a multi bolt flange, this would be useless for the other n motors.
