You're either super unlucky with 2 bad units, or it's likely something isn't happy with your square wave is my bet.

Try the schmitt trigger, then we can rule out the sensor signal.

Hey guys,

I recently got the reflex plus and installed it.

My car wont even idle now, and I get no codes. I have the flex fuel wire connected (pin 16 purple/white wire on the small black dme connector, just as the flex fuel module) and have the map from ken for the reflex + port injection + Flex Fuel. ( took me forever to figure out because there's literally no documentation that i could find on n54 reflex flex fuel)

I updated the firmware and uploaded the standard 750cc N54 bin file as requested, but the ethanol content reads 0 when it should be e10. I have no idea where to start, because like I said there's almost no documentation on it for n54.

My suspicions are that the flex fuel isn't working but it may be something else. Car ran perfectly before I installed it

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

ok I plugged it into the wrong 3 pin connector.... I was too excited to get it running lol

Is it possible to make the z4 e89 35i N54 low pressure fuel sensor work with MOTIV ReFlex +? A hard pipe could be fitted with a low pressure sensor like in the 335i and the wire would go to Reflex's additional Auxiliary Input? DME sees low pressure signal and logs saved successfully?

You'd be better off just plugging it into the DME. A low pressure fuel sensor retrofit into a Z4 is fairly easy.

Once fitted you can either have the sensor as information only where you just use it for logs or you can alter the tune so that the LPFP behaves like the 335i where it operates in closed loop.

So I'm finally ready to get my car back out of the garage. Been messing with little problems. They should all be fixed now. I was looking through my settings in tuner pro. My tune is still a ff base map from motiv. Since I loaded all the files I've switched some things. Motor is now built(just bottom) but most of all I had some wastegate issues before. Mostly because my docrace manifold was cracked and on spring pressure I couldn't hit 14psi. So I switched to a 7lb spring and a 4 port mac for this go round. My Mac is hooked to the aux1 wire on reflex and I see the aux1 duty cycle has no settings. Pic attached. Should there be any settings in these fields? Or is that for just if I was using it for meth or nitrous control from that wire?
Also if anyone knows does my PI tables settings look fair? It's 750 injectors and my map is still a base map with the boost turned upto 22 psi max. Just want to get out there and start breaking in my motor. Thanks for any help

If you are going to break in your motor you should not be boosting to the point where you will need PI!

Haven't read through this thread in a long time.

I currently have the aic and the flex fuel module(and boost box). I also want to log LPFP and some other things at a higher frequency and I can buy yet another add on or I can consolidate this stuff into one box.

Has anyone used the custom inputs for logging something like this and what kind of resolution are you getting? The sales page mentions 25khz, I just need something that is much more detailed than what MHD is able to extract from the DME.

Also, what do these logs look like? If someone can send some to me I can possibly add support for them in the datagrapher.

Well, I am about to join the reflex gang and have it control my port injection as I am out of fuel using direct injection only.

Any updates on canbus integration for N54? :)

Who should I trust to upgrade my ECU to MSD81? I'd like a new FOB programmed as well. Anyone have any recommendations?

This is step 1 of me using reflex.

Do we have to switch to MSD81 for reflex?
Asking as it's currently in my cart and i have a MSD 80 lol

Anyone ran into the Reflex not outputting a signal on the aux out?

I've got aux out 1 configured for boost control. Despite it targeting a specific duty cycle it isn't actually outputting anything. "Aux Out 1" remains at -10.

The odd thing is that testing it with the bench test feature actually works! At 50% DC "Aux Out 1" changes to -62 and then back to -10 when I stop the bench test.

I've also tested it with the RPM vs Boost output table with a fixed duty cycle. I can see it targeting the duty cycle using datalogging and cell tracing but it just doesn't output anything, along with "Aux Out 1" remaining at -10.

I've got the Standalone Boost Control Switch set to 1 and the Aux1 Mode set to 2. The Control state is "RUNNING", so I know it isn't shutdown / overboosting (which I've set above by target anyhow).

I did email Jake but don't want to spam him too much.

Chris managed to find the issue I was having. For some reason the feature flags for the BMW's that enables the reflex to mirror the ECU's EGDC to Aux 1 had been enabled. Disabling those flags fixed it and I'm now running boost with the reflex. It's taken a long time but we're finally there.

Now.. one more issue. After a few pulls the reflex seems to stop driving the wastegate output as though it's in overboost mode. This definitely isn't the case though because I'm targeting around 22psi and have the overboost set to 29psi (for debugging). Once it enters this weird state it stays in it and refuses to boost until I power cycle the reflex.

Anyone ran into that? Once that's sorted I'm full steam ahead.

Pardon my ignorance/lack of knowledge with the reflex. Now that there’s CANBUS integration, I’m hoping to get the reflex and use it for boost control instead of a GFB3, and to control my second walbro 450 instead of a Hobbs switch.

Has anyone done this successfully? Do you also need a BPM4 for the EKP?

Checkout zero to 60 on youtube.

Use a relay to activate the second pump, mac valve idk if its supported.

I saw zero to 60 managed to wire the reflex to the second fuel pump. He said he went with a solid state relay to receive the PWM signal from Reflex, hence the pump is in a state of 100hz on/off operation.

I have ordered my set of Reflex but what bothers me now is how the wiring job should be performed. As I notice there are two separate wire come out of my original hobbs switch and route to the relay, while Reflex comes with one Aux(1 or 2) wire from its plug. Anyone has a diagram for the connection of Reflex and 2nd fuel pump? That would help a lot. Thanks in advance
