Looking to hit close to 800whp. What setups am I looking at ?

If it’s so easy put a 6870 on your car and go do it.

I’ve had a 6266, 6466 and 6870 on a 335i. Probably only Payam can also say that in this thread.

Just because a Supra made 1000 with the turbo doesn’t mean your N54 will. Don’t get me wrong I would love for someone to prove me wrong, but I’ve been around long enough to know it won’t happen with the current place the N54 is at.

Go look at the drag times thread, almost everyone is in the 130s. No 1000 hp car out there is trapping 130’s

It's funny to me how tone deaf people are - I think the comment is "go do it" or "who has done it" make it clear - no one is looking for logic hypotheticals. Is it this hard?

Yep agreed. I've personally tested about 7-8 different single turbos on the N54 lol but what do I know.

I'm aware of the records and the other dyno you posted was my own customer when I had VM, running my turbo kit.

Never said it can't, said it will take LOTS of boost.

You said its going to take like 50psi, except we have dynos in this thread showing a 6870 making 940 and 970 at 35psi.... so somehow it's going to take another 15psi to make 30 more horsepower?

ok :/

Possibly because you can’t just throw infinite boost at things, that’s literally not how it works.

If it’s out of its efficiency range it’s not going to make much power per psi. Same reason you can’t just run 100 psi on stock turbos.

I think you know this but you are just being a troll so you can support your friend.

Rofl, but you're fine with the claim that it'd take an additional 15psi to make another 30hp. That's completely absurd. He also had revs left to throw at it.

That said, Stan made:
32.5psi: 910whp
34.0psi: 940whp
35.5psi: 970whp

It's not going to take that much more to hit 1000. He stopped on the dyno because he ran out of fueling. It wasn't showing signs of running out of steam yet.

Put that on a motor with cams and a ported head and you're going to see even more power.

well, not WHP just HP.
i talked here every time about HP numbers. the 6870 tells 1100HP not WHP.
some 1k dynoresults from US shows HP too, but people talk every time about WHP?!

if i take a look on my dyno resuls from the 968HP i can see i have here 900whp.....so half true what some people say here, if they talk about WHP numbers.
at moment i dont see that the 6870 is in the end, because of constant rising of power. maybe it will stuck close to 1k.....i will see

but at the end it dosent matter. 1khp is not easy to run on streets. by myself i can run 900+WHP(968HP) just in 4. gear. with 315 toyos XD
so HP, WHP, 900,1k or what else is no the end of the game. people should show this on street in times(60-130) oder speed(1,4/1,2Mile)

Guys, why are we talking about making 1000whp ? I am just looking to find the best setup to make close to 800whp with little access to E85 :)

i was wondering what you must be thinking.... lol.
someone suggested a 6870 and someone else said its too big, 2 pages later! haha.

you want to be on the bigger side of the equation if your going to be octane limited. w.r.t to turbo sizing, since you already have a 6266 why not see what you get out of it with the fueling system, fuel and boost your comfortable with. how much you fall short of 800 will give you an idea of much bigger you need to go.

People have made 800 on the 6266 so if you wanna make a easy 800 without pushing 40 psi out of the 6266 upsize to the 6466 or 6870

AFAIK only one person has made 800 whp with a 6266, and that was Veer90 with a built motor.

With that said, I think the 6266 is a great turbo because there is really no proof that any of the bigger turbos go faster, especially the 6870 like Scorp keeps trying to push.

Honestly this is more accurate for 99% of people:

6266 - 750 whp
6466 - 800 whp
670 - 850 whp maybe

And they will all trap 13X mph

ok :/

Only one dynojet is 940 and that's some wonky ass graph. I'd never consider that valid, nobody else would either.

The 970, he even said it's hp... not WHP. My "like 50psi" is an exaggeration, you can take it literal if you want not my problem.

I dyno "tuned" one of my friends car with a DR6266 kit and our JB4+BEF. It make 790whp at 31psi, I have to find the thread somewhere.

790whp at 31 psi would be perfect as long as I can still have lower boost options aswell :) what's his setup?

I made 735 SAE whp out of 26 psi on a 6266. By Scorp and NYT's standards that easy 980 whp at 31 psi. Then I'll just round that to 1000 like they did and tell people there is much more in it.

Except I even said: The 6266 should get you close to 800, the 6466 closer to 900 :/ Payam even just said he tuned a car with a 6266 at 790whp.

Apparently I misinterpreted Stan's dyno results, I didn't know how off that dyno was. I don't see what's so bad about the 6870 940whp pull. It looks like the car was losing power up top, but I don't see any real signs of low smoothing / spikes or anything else that'd report overly high...

So now that the turbo debate seems to be over...

dual wabro 450 ?
Port E85 ?
E30 mix ?
Race gas ?
Port meth ?
Port injection ?
