I just want 525 wheel and no rattling wastegates. Anyone... I have money... anyone

I hear ya. The single turbo kits on the market are beautiful, but I can't drop $5000 on just the turbo kit. I would love a nice, twin turbo upgrade that would give me a bump in horsepower over stock but not cost $3000. Maybe I'm dreaming but that's just my take on things. I understand if you want 700 whp, but I don't.

RB turbos seem pretty solid these days you should be able to hit 525hp with the stock tmap @ around 18psi which they should comfortably do, even the cheapest of his td04 varients.

Not sure if serious gif?

There are half a dozen offerings out there that will accomodate this reliably. Either @boostE92d isn't expressing all his requirements and why the current offerings aren't meeting his needs, or he is unaware of any of the markets offerings, or he is trolling.

All the stock frames turbo offerings end up with rattling wastegates. If you guys know of a manufacturer that this doesn't happen to, please let me know. I have money to spend.

Right now my main need is no rattling. I'd love an efr or Garrett bottom mount, log mani single.

There's plenty reviews on this board and the associated facebook groups that have people with 40-50,000mi on hybrids with no rattle.

I got to about 55k on my stockers before it got bad and the rattle fix in the tune ruins driveability. I know it is me fixating on something fairly minor but it just sucks flicking downshifts with the dct that are all started with that noise. I guess I'll keep saving for a bottom mount.

New revision 08+ wastegates are decent i know of people with over 100k with no rattle. There are a few things that can lead to rattle, vac lines, boost solenoids, brake check valve ect

I had an 09 that the rattle was bad enough that BMW replaced the turbos at 65k. My 12 335is has 70k and bad rattling. Like I said, I know I'm fixating, but it's pretty crap on an otherwise brilliant drive.

New options keep arriving for this platform. It seems that there are both good twin choices, as well as good bottom mounts coming our way. I believe VTT is about to release a bottom mount hybrid, and there may be others.

I've heard of plenty enough other people with later model N54s and rattles in 60k range. I guess it is a YMMV.

Yeah, Mitsubishi really let us down with this turbo's wastegate design. What I don't understand is why log style bottom mount kits are so expensive on this car. Oh well, we're used to it, right?
