I don't see the N54 platform slowing down next year. It appears there is a lot of life left in the aftermarket here. So what's 2018 going to be the year of? Intake Manifolds are played out. Turbo Kits are all over the place. Fuel is so 2014.

My prediction is software. Between Syvecs, MHD, and xHP progress I'm expecting some cool things of the tuning front next year. I am also expecting a 9sec 1/4mi pass.

I'm also betting on @Tony@VargasTurboTech and @Omar@VaderSolutions getting into another 60-70 dick measuring contests. Those guys can't stop arguing about who's pecker is smaller.

We see our first legit 1000hp N54.

And maybe @Payam@BMS convinces @Anthony@ACF the internet exists and ACF gets a go-daddy page??

I joined this forum just for this post.

Likely ..

  1. Should see an N54 definitely in the 9s this year(Duck in Brisbane Aus the most likely candidate to get in first given its the N.A winter now and his setup almost did it last time with less power)
  2. More DCT conversions as that seems like the box to have if you want to hold power but software is holding it back.
  3. Syvecs will likely be powering a few cars that will be the envy of a lot of people. Some with DCTs that will start to do some crazy numbers
  4. Parts will get cheaper as more Chinese manufacturers cotton on to the prices we pay.

Wish list
  1. MHD finally opens up the flex fuel taps and indeed finally releases the ability to fully control the DME's
  2. Hopefully someone cracks the DCT TCU and we see adjustable RPM launch control and shift mapping like XHP
  3. Tony stops posting and starts churning out cars and parts
  4. AD-E delivers all of his orders on time
  5. Someone develops an 135/335/1m "I'm allergic to plastic engine components kit" to replace all the plastic that seems to disintegrate the second you look at the car.
  6. Someone develops a plug and play HPFP
  7. We all stop paying the "BMW tax"

I'd just like to see me drive my car more than just down the road to put gas in it and check the tires...ONCE!

Everyone will criticise vtt but he will make a new good turbo product.

A new turbo supplier will come and go.

Ball bearing small turbos will be a failure.

M3 diff axles and driveshaft will be sold as a kit for 335i.

RHD single turbo kits will start being offered.

Aftermarket waterpumps, billet valve covers release, someone puts 60psi to an n54 to see how many peices its made out of. The truth comes out that the mhd flex fuel was never really gonna happen. 800hp xi car. Awd/rwd switch. Omar wins dick measuring contests.

Ball bearing twin gtx's have been out for over a year. Nobody wants to pay $9k for them though.
I meant stock location bb twins. Also the question mark for a question rather than a guess.

Correct, stock location bb gtx turbos have been out for a long time. Mosey on over to Vargas turbos and plunk down $9k and you can have a set.

My prediction for a 9sec 335 this season has nearly come to pass, an Aussie from Melbourne has apparently done a 10.066s @ 136.98 mph... the two fastest 335i’s are in Australia. :)

Can’t deny a decent stall and only one shift+ the ability to hold power makes for a good package. What’s the quickest 4 speed up to ?

With cast manifolds now available, I think someone will eventually stuff a pair of TD05 CHRAs into a set of upgraded twins.
