Hey guys, figured I'd start a thread on this topic over here as well... with an update :)

12/9/2016 XDF Update:

The Fuel (Start) table has been added :) So go enjoy no more cold start E85 issues!

Also, very big thanks to Martial for adding ALL missing table axis. If anyone spots an issue, please comment.

Thanks!

Same here, very exciting stuff!

@OP
Could you elaborate on the existing limitations? I'm just curious to see how much this opens up possibilities

Currently, users running E85 or blends of E85 had issues with the car starting in colder weather. This table is basically the % fuel enrichment at start (cranking IPW enrichment as classic injector ppl know it), so you can start your car in the winter smoothly...every time.

Sounds Fantastic! But... What I was wondering is if you could give a little insight on what other capabilities there are?

By this I want to know (Mainly out of excitement and I want to hear more about it)

What all will we be able to manipulate with the XDF app?

An XDF isn't an app, it is just a format for the definition of the tables stored inside the DME BIN file. The possibilities are endless when it comes to modifying those table values and or DME logic.

I'm glad this thread is on Spool Street! Keep up the good work jyamona. :)

Also should we post the link for the repository here, or is that e90Post proprietary? ;)

If there are any files, we have a resource section for exactly that.

The repository is on github, it's absolutely not affiliated with any of the forums and should never be. Although they can provide the files if somebody wants to keep it updated. I don't have the link handy but just Google 335i xdf and choose the github link, it's one of the top 3 or 4 results.

Small update here, I have traced the warm up enrichment tables for the short "open loop" period following start. There are a few, but I think I narrowed down one that can be used to cure the issues described above. It is currently being tested. Once confirmed, it will be added to the flex fuel implementation as well

Very nice! Luckily it doesn't get that cold here. Right around freezing and then it started to get warmer again.

This has always been my favorite thread. If you've ever seen The Social Network... This thread of Jake Y's is the N54 equivalent to me, lol.

What are the possibilities of getting the DME to run PI a VTT double barrel shotgun secondary HPFP or similar to push the fueling without relying on a slave unit

It will never drive PI directly without an intermediate box to fire the injectors. It may be able to control 2x HPFP directly.

Would running two HPFPs be something you or anyone would be working on so we can do away with PI?
