e85 uses about 30% more fuel so I'm guessing e54 uses 19% so we are looking at 694.17 whp apx 700whp on e54. I'm more interested in race gas and the double barrel kit should be good for 1100whp on c16 :smilingimp:

You know, I even thought about running race gas....on race days. No need for PI at that rate.

Would just need a race gas tune for 1/2 mile events, etc.

I always thought that our motors lived at the higher HP levels because of the cooling properties of E85. I think race gas burns quite a bit hotter and is similar in energy density to pump gas so you wouldn't need additional fuel for equivalent power, but you would be risking the pistons at the 700 whp level.

Glad you guys revised the shotgun pump and re-did the fuel lines. It needed a bit of an overhaul. But... its a great product and was still in its infancy. Things always improve after re-world application.

Ethanol is wonderful fuel. I'd say at the very least you may end up running richer with race gas if it's a DD type tune... but that's up to the tuner. ;)

Is the internal diameter and volume of the aluminum outlets going to match the silicone outlets? I know Dusty's outlets were slightly smaller and have less volume than MMP and VTT silicone.

VTT is in this new casting, so you must actually own this one. Unless of course, other companies would be selling their turbos with your logo on it lol
Yeah its funny what happens when you have more money to play with. Instead of giving other companies your designs in order to help cover development costs, now we cover 100% of development, and own everything. It wasn't ideal before, but bootstrapping isn't always easy... We will never give a company our design again without 100% of the rights.

I've been toying with idea of the SPA manifold.

A couple items:

1. In all the pics I've seen in looks like the mounting flange for the turbo is somewhat cock-eyed, leading me to believe it would require a custom-fabbed downpipe

2. That segues nicely into my next point - I've been holding out for a complete hot-side kit rather than piece meal or custom fab the remaining parts. I simply don't have time for any that.

Well, you just pooed on my hopes & dreams. Lol.

A cast bottom-mount is what is (aging) platform needs - cheap, easy, and reliable 500whp on pump gas.

Tony is not a fan of single turbo N54's according to numerous comments he's made on forums and social media. Hell, the guy has gone so as to put twins on an N55. That new casting is probably a ball bearing twin cold side casting. There are other companies headed this way also.

Generally speaking, I'd say you're correct; however, if you've read his posts carefully, it seems as if he believes there to be some value in a bottom-mount specifically (I.E NOT a top-mount).

Whether that's enough to add one to his product line...only he knows that for sure. *shrug*

I will just jump in, and say its not a ball bearing unit. We have found through extensive testing that to retain the spool N54 owners look for, you have to size turbos on the smaller side, this means elevated shaft speeds. Adding a BB to the mix means you have now added a very real upper RPM limit that did not exist in the JB units. We will never offer stock location, stock type casting BB units for these cars. You are opening yourself up to failures while picking up very little in the way of decreased spool time. We currently do offer BB turbo upgrades for the N54, Stage 3 kit uses twin Genuine Garrett Ball Bearing units...

@Tony@VargasTurboTech has figured out how to commercialize the Tesla Turbine 100y after the patent has expired. It's going to be the best turbocharger anywhere. We all know Tesla was ahead of his time...well....

That time has come!

(since we have so many young'uns who don't know who Nikola Tesla is and think I'm talking about Elon Musk I'll give them a starting link so they can go self-educate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_turbine)

As a side note. Do you know what you call a stolen Tesla Model S? An Eddison.
