Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else has the VTT forward facing manifold? I attempted to install mines but was faced with hood clearance issues. The hood seems to rest on top of the TB/charge pipe area not allowing me to close my hood. There's roughly about a 3" gap between the hood and the bumper. The tighter the nuts to the block go the higher the manifold raises up, this gives my TB clearance away from the altenator but raises it high enough to cause hood closing issues. There's nothing I can find online or anyone else sharing anything else that I can find so hopefully someone can shed some light on this one for me. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I see you have a carbon fiber hood. Have you checked if they're any differences between the underside of this hood and the oem hood? Possibly this hood has a support where the oem one doesn't.

yes I did actually, a buddy of mines has the same chassis so we checked his hood, there is some extra metal in the same vicinity where it hits on my carbon hood as well which I suspect is to add rigidity to the hood. it looks choppable/trimmable on the OEM hood but I'm unsure if it'll give enough clearance still.

only other thing i can think of is, are you using OEM engine mounts? incase a aftermarket engine mount sits higher.

yes, I contacted VTT about this as well and they suspected that I had raised my motor but I verified that I am on the stock mounts so now I'm stuck.

any chance your passenger side mount is collapsed causing the engine to be at a slight angle. Intern placing the intake manifold higher then it should be due to the angle of the engine.

Another recommendation I'd try putting a oem hood back on just incase the carbon fiber one doesn't follow the same body lines, or is a different angle. Although, That idea doesn't seem very feasible, as there should still be enough room for the engine to slightly move while under load.

I'm just throwing ideas out there.

If that's not the case I'd suspect it to be a quality control issue, and I'd send the manifold back.

I contacted them about it. I also made a post in N54 Tech and it seems I'm not alone with VTT garbage fitting manifolds. For something so expensive I really expected better it's disappointing really. some other's shared pics of their OEM hoods not closing as much as mines already too

It doesn't seem like they give money back once install is attempted based off the paperwork I read. But Indeed I'd stay clear of these ones. Thank you for your suggestions as well I'll post an update just so something is documented online for anyone else who's facing this issue.

Yea no problem! I'd contact your credit card company if you have too, that's messed up if they don't replace it or refund you.

My cf hood has an inside fiberglass layer under the cf. just cut a circle where it hit the IM
This pic kinda shows the little ledge/lip where mines hit is that what you mean?

Got it, it won't slip off? Also still chop the hood as well?
You need a clamp, i thing 3.75 something like that and yes u still probably going have take off some the hood. Not it wont slip off, 30 psi no issue.

Understood thank you for that, did you have to raise the passenger side of the motor by chance? I got this suggestion from a different source.

I have a fee washer because my turbo hit shock tower, but probably would help bring manifold down a bit.
