So, the 8374 is actually spooling a little bit faster?

The 7670 run was an early setup before F series flashing was really working, so it was limited to a boost differential over the stock target. In reality, the 7670 spools about 3-400rpm earlier than the 8374. Both of these turbos have more in them than what these dyno charts show.

So the 76 hits 400 wtq around 2500-2600? That is really good

N54 and N55 Cars
Also, because everyone (including me) loves dyno charts, here is a plot of our F30 mule baseline vs EFR7670 vs EFR8374. Please note - this is the same car (completely stock engine, exhaust, airbox/filter/tube) and same dyno, no garbage here. This is SAE correction (what everyone should use).

The 8374 has a lot left in it, but had run into dme torque ceiling limits or something (on dyno only, havent seen that on the street/track). These runs are at 24psi, have run up to 28psi on the street. I think the EFR8374 could put down 750whp.

Also have not run a 9174/9180, but those fitup on F chassis also, and should be good to nearly 1000hp. So if someone has a built N55 and wants to test out a 9180 let me know!

Great post. lots of options now for the N55. I have a few customers on your kits. Performing well.

Let me check with a couple clients on the 9180 mention. I distinctly remember Seine telling me they were building their N55.

LOL, 24psi on a 7670 at redline on a 3L engine is well overspun past max rated RPM. Not smart considering how they like to pop when overspun. Looks like a grab for numbers, not a reliable tuning option.

Pretty sure the 7670 is advertised to 650, probably would be happier if the power was kept under 600 wheel, but even the 8374 is producing 400 wtq at about 2700 rpm? I don't know I've seen anything else for sale that does this?

next week I am going to make my evaluation, all parts in speedtech stg3 looks on point. I used my F30 335i stock, stage 1, PS2 ( over 100 1/4 mile passes and daily driver ) now upgrade to ST3 in 2018 !

I used Borg's own calculator. See my pic? Numbers don't lie?

EFR's have been popular with the Evo, STI, RX7 etc crowd since they were released. The N54 crowd seem to prefer to just send it with gigantic turbos and pretend they're the next 2J, however at more sensible/streetable power levels, EFR's are hard to beat in terms of response and feel.

There are a lot of variables you are taking a guess on in that spreadsheet... Also, the only EFR's that had issues were early production with some casting issues. Our 7670 had countless runs while racking up miles over a year before releasing the kit. Though if someone in an F chassis wants to run over say 630whp, I would definitely go with the 8374. The spool on it is awesome and hard to tell the difference compared to the 7670 while in the car, and it has plenty more in it to go over 700whp. If thats not enough, then you jump to the 9174 or 9180. Either way, there's plenty of options. If we want to argue about running a turbo beyond the choke line, that discussion belongs with the N55 hybrid turbos.

It's hard to be certain and assumptions are made, sure. Abacus brought up the very valid point that the borg calc assumes a VE of 105% at 7K, bringing that down to 90-95% ish makes a substantial difference. The compressor map also just stops at 65% eff so not sure if past choke line or just at 50-55% eff down there? Still a small turbo for a 3L and I wouldn't push one to 24+ psi new gen or not, but they look like they rip at reasonable boost.

Would really like to know if this would fit on a right hand drive, obviously the bigger turbos wouldnt fit but the smaller options...

So there is no central server where these dragy runs are stored that we can link to? These things seem too easy to photoshop.
