Sharp Customs N54 Sheet Metal Port Injection Intake Manifold: Testing and Future Review!

M&M'S

Lurker
sorry noobie question:
your intake manifold as the same dimensions and volume of the OEM manifold ??
I see some people use throttle body spacer they increases the air volume but i'm suspicious of the air flow because everyone talk about increases air volume but the flow is more important than the volume

I think for the N54 need a total modified intake with some etudes on the air flow because with a better air flow have more benefits than the air volume.

No offense, but this is the second thread I have noticed you asking very basic questions. We have tested different manifolds including ones with huge plenums, etc. We saw not much difference on the stock head. We will be testing every manifold on the market back to back, on an 800WHP DI only N54 with a fully ported head, this should provide some pretty detailed insight into whether the front or center facing manifold is preferable for this platform

Tracking has been issued, will receive this and install the following weekend. Or i may randomly get the flu and have a sick day to finally finish this review. Woop!

Second manifold is here. Honestly with all the issues fixed, this thing is pretty damn nice! Obviously not perfect, but well worth the money. Clayton was amazed, when I showed him then told him the price. Roger did a great job fixing all the mistakes. Just waiting for the Fab factory manifold to arrive, and we can start the "definitive N54 intake manifold shootout" looking forward to it! Cheers

They are the same basically but if you notice Tony asked for his to be done without port injection. So basically his is a straight up Manifold :)

What's that equal with current AUD exchange rate?

F'n hell with that beauty and the beast profile pic Duck

currently 6/10ths of fuck all usd to aud equals about 8300AUD.

it's not great, but this is the world we live in, at least we didn't draw the trump card.

yeah, that's me ugly mug and my fiance. see why i have to take a break from cars every now and then, she leaves me I'll have to fend for myself for the rest of my days. Haha

I would wait til we finish out shootout. We will be doing a non biased 3rd party testing of every manifold currently on the market. This should once, and for all either show the worth of an intake manifold on the N54, or prove its better to just stick with stock. Keep in mind, all of these will have worse heat transfer than the stock manifold does. I am very interested to see these results myself.

My main desire is the pi.
So as long as it fits and flows at least as well as oem, I'm good. I am looking forward to the shootout, though.

I'm getting more excited for this option. Just waiting for all the fitment testing to be done, etc. Helps that Tony said it looks like a good quality part. As long as it performs ATLEAST as well as stock then I'll be switching to this with the PI built in. No more waffle iron intake, get PI for my single setup. Can't be mad at all.

Also while i am installing the manifold i will also be throwing in a new HPFP. Dealer refused to replace mine and i am now too cautious about HPFP crashing while PI is still firing. Urgh.

Can't tell very well from the pics but did they make the nipple for the BOV larger by chance? That's a common problem that we have to drill/tap the factory manifold for.
