That's the difference between you and me I state facts and can back up with a good argument and not resort to childish behaviour
as seen in this thread by yourself and others.

I wouldn't waste my money on the 6AT as its a waste of time, rather use that money and time for a s55 dct swap which will wipe the floor with it all day long.

Complete waste of time and effort but if you like to do useless things, what ever works for you.

I got better things to do but if you want to measure dicks lets do it,

I have 6 kids and support them, 2 are in my family business full time, 1 full time working/studing to be an electrical engineer.
Two are at Sydney Uni studying to be lawyers, 1 started this year and the other got picked up by a major law firm in his second year now in third.
My youngest is at the top of his grade and wants to be a detective but not if I can help it.

Along side my family commitments I run a profitable family business along side my custom fabrications parts business.

Still manage to find time for a good argument now and then and when you manage to get even close to what I achieved come see me.

While some might admire someones achievements, its nothing if a career is the only thing your concentrating on,
You don't assume you know people just because of what they wrote on the forums and how you conduct yourself
is what sets one apart from the hoard.

If I didn't have kids I would be a multi millionaire by now but they keep me borderline broke.

I don't need to list my achievements but just by knowing that most are running with one off my products is enough for me.

So.....ummm, whats a good driveshaft of choice for 600whp +
550wtq +
And under more stress than a lightened up drag car, with a 4100lb E93 and sticky tires ?
So far the stock is holding up, BUT...xHP 3.0 and stepping up manual mode shift speed (only +5%) im not so sure it will last.
When the Pures take a shit, Ill switch out for more power soooo....a driveshaft that can hold say 750 whp easily and sticky tires.
Hoping the Mfactory axles dont break AGAIN.

This driveshaft is bulletproof at your power level which is very close to mine
Is there any way to get the dimensions for a factory driveshaft to send into them WITHOUT dropping mine ?
Or does anyone have a E93 up in the air to take measurements ?
Would suck to drop exhaust, heat shields, guibo, etc to take measurements and then put everything back up again...to just drop everything again to replace driveshaft when I get it 😂

You obviously didn’t read my first post and if you did you didn’t read it closely enough. You will still need to provide the dimension between the trans output flange, minus the guibo, and the rear diff input flange. They won’t even talk to you until you have this measurement but feel free to wing it

Which is why I asked if anyone has an E93 up in the air to take measurements. Its to replace a stock driveshaft with stock diff (m factory)

Great thread on the steel alloy shaft option. Chromemoly is very 'slightly' heavier than steel in driveshafts. However ,it is absolutely the strongest of the common material inc carbon firbre for building a drive shaft or axle.
So for an pretty insignificant increase in weight over steel stock, you have a 'forget about it' driveshaft and its pretty cheap to boot. DSS also seem to follow best practice on the driveshaft construction for choice of components and critical speed specific builds.
The shops that do factor build shafts to critical speed requirements and the other variables (like power/torque , weight , ratios & tyre height) in custom builds are probably where I'd reccomend folk check box. There are quite a few of them around (Iots) inc DSS by the looks.

OP Did you get the specs on it when they sent it over in terms of critical speed spec?

Critical speed (first order bending)
To work out the requirement :
Top speed (mph) x 336 (constant) x rear ratio (like 4.10) divided by the tire height(inches) .

For the carbon fibre option , which is great, just remember that they dont like getting nicked and scratched, they will fail quickly at the site of any wear. So you need to ensure road gravel isnt flicking in there and chipping it. Probably not a big issue save for a daily driver if you dont run some sort of stone guard over it.

Big thank you to @AUbeast86 for this thread and for the additional details. I just ordered up this exact driveshaft from DSS as it’s exactly what is needed for our application.

A few notes:
1a) On my e90 chassis that has full aluminum bushings and a full cage, we found the total distance from the transmission flange to the M3 DCT LSD flange was 1,418mm vs @AUbeast86 1,415mm measurement. Very minimal difference and likely due to some of the differences in bushings/chassis modifications.

1b) The 1,418MM measurement was to the lip of the LSD flange NOT to the inside of the lip (A not B in this photo)

2) DSS said they’re about 3-5 weeks out on orders right now.

3) I was told that the 3” chromoly was rated to handle 1000hp, so us 500-600hp guys are more than ok.

4) For those curious, below is a copy of my purchase order should you want to replicate:
