MHD V8.0 Beta

So as many of you who are still on the mhd ots maps may have seen the release of new beta maps from mhd dropped today. So when you update and look at the maps screen, you will find ethanol mixes for every stage. I am currently running v7.1 e60 in my car, however i dont have dps installed yet (hooray for winter project ). For anyone who is already running these new maps, or has any insight to how they were written, when i make the change should i play it safe and go with stg1+ e50 or say fuggit and go stg2+ e50? Would stg1+ e50 power level be comparable to v7 e60? Or even v5 e40? Also i dont want this thread to be only about this one question, this is a hub for discussion with these new maps so feel free to post any findings, feedback, or questions of your own as well. Wedge makes the OTS maps, you can ask them for a definitive answer.

I did flash v8 e50 today and did a quick 40 roll. So far she feels great. Throttle response was A+ and was overall just smooth. V8>V7. V5 e40 was just pure love, not sure anything but a custom tune can top it. I'll be running the v8, I hope I get a chance to log so I can shoot ken the logs.

No use going for more aggressive maps when you don’t have dps.

I was running Stage 2+ with no intercooler and DP's for 20k miles.
That's just me.

If you were running the e60 map you should be fine just don't alter knick tables make sure you have lpfp upgrade and log to check hpfp pressure lpfp pressure afr and any corrections.

Testing the v8 Stage 2+ E30 map today. Car feels great, night and day difference in drivability. Idle + shifts improved. Will be grabbing logs if the roads aren't too cold/wet.

Having the supporting mods is always recommended, so if you decide to test all the maps that's up to you. I personally would just run the map that feels the best after trying them all.

I'm running V8 Stage 2+with jb4 still installed, menu 4=4, haven't swapped the white wire yet. I was running jb4 map 5 with e85 bef. I'm new to this, trying to figure out why I it feels and sounds like it's venting at low throttle and not holding steady boost as rpms climb. I've replaced boost solenoids, vac lines, RB pcv, valve cover, ect. Anyway, the car has so much more power low to mid and is smoother/more responsive than it's ever been, by far. It makes me want to remove the jb4 altogether, but until I figure out what's going on, I'll leave it. Anyone care to have a look that may spot something to explain my issue?

The JB4 could be causing the issue. I would just remove it and test the car. Let us know what you find.

Will do, thanks for the quick reply. I can't stress enough how much smoother and more powerful in the low to mid range the car feels. Like it's working the way it's supposed to. Night and day.

Inlets / outlets killed the OTS maps for you due to the increased air flow. The OTS maps are not calibrated for inlets / outlets.

Also, it's not the LPFP that will be the limiting factor with running the maps with a higher ethanol content, it will be your HPFP which won't be able to keep up. Do not run your HPFP lower than 1000 psi. LPFP 50 psi.

I'd highly recommend to request this from XHP. Slightly delaying and reducing the rate of torque re-introduction after a shift will be THE best fix for this. I've requested it multiple times. It was the very first thing I requested when the very first announcement that TCU flashing is coming. They don't seem interested in looking at the issue though. There are things in the DME that help but they're compromised. Doing it in the TCU is the best option.

Timing is identical in the two maps. The boost is higher on the stg2+

There are ways to reduce correction but the best way is better fuel, higher octane, or higher ethanol content. Meth and port meth work well for those without e85.

I also know how to eliminate MT post shift bog, but there are some safety features it disables with the current solution, so until we can isolate the logic to determine what to disable safely it won't be used or released.
