Anyone Have Any Videos of a SMFW with Idle Raised?

Ultimately decided to ditch the DMFW and go with an MFactory Steel SMFW. I've heard the unsettling noises that come at stock idle levels, especially with the AC on. Anyone have any video sound clips of the lack of rattle when raising the idle a bit? Just curious. Thanks in advance!

It improves, but doesn't eliminate. If my car were running, I'd take another sound clip for you.

I've heard this racket and it just sounds like the car has problems. Is there nobody that makes a dual mass flywheel to fix this issue? I'm sure this has been asked before, but jesus, that sound is awful. My idle is 750 to avoid the vibrations of my motor mounts and I wouldn't really want it any higher.

Have you tried it higher? People have commented they thought something was broken and I assured them this is how it was supposed to sound. That was before I raised to 750 and finally to 900.

I don't recall an issue with a high rev at idle.

If anything I wonder if it makes taking off with a stage 3+ easier but I never have tried back to back to see it stock vs. Say 1k rpm idle. Just something I have considered. No real world experience either way.

Whatever it takes to get rid of that sound seems worth it.

Iirc there is somene who makes an upgraded dmfw from Europe I believe, but I don' recall any reviews. Expensive and labor intensive to just try it out for a do it yourselfever

That place was called PTB racing, their dual mad is about $1800 after conversion. But it sounds like it had issues at prototype and haven't heard much more since then.

Wonder if the stock dmfw could have stronger springsinstalled?

Mine is set at 900 but still rattles, idle at 1100 fully eliminated the rattle, but that was too much for me, so I live with it at 900. Only time I really notice is when I’m in a drive thru, any other time I don’t even notice it. Have had a spec 3+ w/ m factory smfw for a year now and not once had anybody notice the noise on their own.

what's wrong with idle at 1000 with a manual?

My car with spec twin plate clutch
Yep, this rattling, except put the camera outside and you'll hear it like the car parked next to you. Its a fair bit louder. Sounds like there are marbles being bounced and rattled around in your engine, a far cry from a natural engine sound. I don't like my idle high either, reminds me of a japanese import car with a bad idle air control valve.

I had an SMFW from PTB (similiar like Mfactory and all the other offerings). The rattle in neutral with depressed clutch was really loud, although i raised the idle.

I then tried the upgrade DMFW- but it didnt work and broke.

Now i have a custom SMFW with Twin Disc Clutch Organic and what should i say? The rattle in neutral is almost 100% gone- i have no idea why, but i think it is because the clutch was balanced along with the flywheel.

The Clutch keeps up quite well atm (didnt really pushed it that hard, since i installed it just before season ending) and the take off and driving is an absolute dream.

I had 5 clutches in my car, two OEM DMFW, one SMFW, one upgraded DMFW and i can say this Option is by far the nicest!
