335i MMP Inlet & CSF Radiator Caveat

Just a word of caution, if you are installing a CSF Performance Radiator and you have the MMP inlets, prepare to do lots of dremel trimming to your radiator fan housing and get some tie wraps ready. Because your inlet will be pushed dangerously close to the belts and pulleys.

The performance radiator sticks out a tiny bit more than the stock one so it will push your inlet closer to the pulleys.

The copper stains are LiquiMoly copper anti-seize to make insertion and removal of fan easier against hoses. It is SUPER tight fit. I recommend going to CVS and buying a bottle of glycerin gel. Works better and evaporates without staining.

This became an issue after I decided to refresh all cooling components including replacing all hoses (some of which were a pain in the ass to remove), replace water pump and thermostat, replace radiator with bigger CSF performance radiator.

Simultaneously, I am also installing a 16 row series 6 Setrab transmission oil cooler in preparation for the impending arrival of the Propulsive Dynamics upgraded 6hp21 transmission. I managed to mount the cooler in my front grill area. I did not make notes of brackets and fasteners but I can post current progress if you are interested in seeing how I am mounting the cooler. Hint--- it ain't pretty, but it will work fine, no rubbing and solidly mounted. Waiting for my banjo connectors, straight connectors, and the two transmission 8 AN plug adapters that will allow me to use AN hoses to the factory transmission lines.

I have the csf but luckily I am single turbo and don't have to worry about those inlets anymore. I am finishing up my trans cooler also, chose not to use a setrab core but I'd like to see your setup too

my VRSF inlet is very close to the crank hub, I wish there was a cleaner way to push it away from the hub and closer to the fan.

Same with VTT/CSF, I like your method, but all I did was step on my front inlet to oval it a little bit, and put it back in with plenty of clearance.

Is the 335is fan shroud even bigger? I wonder if that causes any additional issues. I was thinking about upgrading to the 335is fan, since my auto shrouding doesn't fit the manual CSF radiator properly.

both use n54 engines.

I see one fan as dual fitting.

Once I put the car back together the intake connection pushes the inlet back away from the pulleys.

I did not take any photos of the thermostat installed in place. But these are the installation pics of the cooler. Initially, I mounted in the grill area…BIG MISTAKE. Don’t do it. Use this location as recommended by Jason at Propulsive Dynamics. You get 20% more ventilation and reduction of heat in the fog light area with fog light delete.

That's what I also thpught but they sent me solid fittings..
No holes for switches. I been through three switches and none have worked because the probe tip doesn't reach the fluid. So as last resort I ordered a 160°f switch. Hope that will switch on at the right temp. Of 185°f.

I theorize that the 185°f switches are only heating up to 160º because they don't dip into the atf flow. So that means the temps are probably 30 degrees cooler.
