I don’t have any e85, that’s why I was leaning towards the m/w injection. I was def going to upgrade lpfp to stage 2 though

I love this post. When i was considering the top mount, I kept looking at the smaller 5862 and people would act like I’m crazy. I want low end torque also. I would prefer full boost before 4500rpms. Whats the fun in that unless you are running 1/2 mile competitions. I just want to daily drive my car and have fun. I can’t wait to see this kit come out.

Vargas.... have you had any issues with O2 sensors? This is the common thing I see with bottom mounts is that they “eat O2 sensors”. Have you seen this and what was your answer. Thanks guys!
Went with the 5862, turbo is way more capable then everyone thinks. I was hitting full boost at 5300ft elevation at 3500-3900 rpms depending how much boost I was pushing. On only 26psi (with a slipping transmission before XHP was released) Easily walked a hellcat with it. Turbo is extremely fun on the street to daily drive. no, it won't spool full at 2500 rpms, but realistically, unless you have a pure reason to be spooling that much torque down low, it's not needed. Plus, drive line parts hat low end torque. So unless you've upgraded all your drive line parts, expect to break shit making tons of power down low.

I like to hear this. Did you ever dyno this turbo? I have been on the lookout for someone who had this turbo and dynod it so i can see what the curve would look like. Thanks

If you want to send them in, we offer updates to the new wheels at no charge and cover shipping for you. Problem is, some of the wheels never give any issues, others would lose a fin in a short time. Its honestly been a bit of a nightmare, and having our own wheels cast was the only way to ensure no more issues. There are other turbo vendors announcing new offerings with the same wheels, they know very well there is an issue with, and instead of fixing it, they just ignore it and blame things like 2-step, burble tunes, NLS etc for the failures, and void warranties. Once we realized there was a real issue, it was no questions asked we would make it right at no cost to the customer. The issue was/is very real, and it cost us in the neighborhood of 6 figures to get it taken care of. Thank god it is behind us.

GC REBOOT

Let's get started with the GC Reboot! That’s right, we took our already potent GC line up, and did a ground-up redesign, getting rid of some things we didn't like, and adding things we wanted to improve.

Key Features of the GC 2.0 reboot are as follows:
• 100% designed, and cast for VTT: this is not a partnership with any other company
• All new castings with VTT logos front and center
• D5S Ni resist material is used throughout the hot side. This includes Turbine housings as well as manifolds.
• All-New Compressor housings with ribbed inlets to ensure a secure fit from inlet to housing.
• Single piece V-band clamp connection from turbine housing to manifold sized to fit Tial Clamps. No more awkward two-piece clamps to install.
• Our single biggest improvement is the casting of our proprietary turbine wheels in Garrett GT28 profile with a TD04HL shaft to fit the existing GC family bearing housing. Wheels are cast from Inconel 713L. This eliminates the industry-wide TD04HL 9 blade wheel failure problem while improving wheel Aero; even better spool and more flow.
• Full sized GC’s, and GC Lites still available
• Rebooted pricing. With all these improvements the GC line up will cost less when released NOT more.
• ESTIMATED AVAILABILITY DATES
o Late Q1 2018 with special intro pricing on website for GC’s and GClites
First off, hats off to the VTT gang for turning the crank and working to make things better. As a customer this is confidence inspiring, amongst other things.

That said I could use some help deciphering the above product announcement. It is hard to understand what products exist once this happens: "GC Reboot" "GC line up" "GC 2.0 reboot" "GC family" "GC's and GClites" "Full sized GC’s, and GC Lites". It says, "we took our already potent GC line up, and did a ground-up redesign, getting rid of some things we didn't like, and adding things we wanted to improve." but then "Full sized GC's, and GC Lites still available". Finally "Rebooted pricing. With all these improvements the GC line up will cost less when released NOT more."
  • Once released, there one GC product and one GC lite product, which are the latest "reboot 2.0" versions? Or are you selling 4 versions of "the family" - originals and reboots?
  • Depending on the above question, what is "reboot pricing"? "Improvements in the GC line up will cost less when released not more" implies they are replacing the existing products with new, lower cost. Yet that contradicts the prior line that says, GC and GC lites "still available"
This is great work, and please don't take offense, but I'm confused by much of the wording above. My car is about to go under the knife over the next few months, so a Q1 turbo offering is of serious interest to me.

Thanks, all of you.

The GC family includes the (full sized) GC's, and the GC lites. That hierarchy exists with the new GC designs. In other words just like before we'll have GC's and GC lites. Just new/updated/prettier/higher flow/cheaper/more betterer.

We're still supporting first gen GC's of course, but once the new version GC's are here they are all we'll sell new.

Prices for new GC family will be less than old. So they're better and cheaper. :)

Glad to see you have the issue resolved. I assume this would be for the original owner? How much would the fix be for GCs I bought second hand? Thank you.

This was around a couple years ago at this point, 2500 elevation, 18-19psi. Also want to mention this was a JB Gen 1 5862. So it could be better.

I fixed your image. Remember on this forum you just upload photos like an attachment. You then get an 'insert photo' option next to the attachment.

Damn, that looks awesome. What hotside was on the turbo? Would be amazing to see G2 DBB. Wish there were more builds like this.

Too many people run turbos for power levels they will never achieve. thus ruining DD ability to a high extent. 84 A\R, with a bigger exhaust side and a G2 BB I'm sure it would be seriously nasty on the street.
