As the title asks, looking to add an upgraded LPFP to work with my TTE500 hybrid turbo upgrade running on 98 RON fuel.

I’ve read all the mods to try and cool the EKP.

For the UK with its temperatures not sure I can be bothered / be happy hacking the EKP box apart.

In Boy Scout mode maybe I’ll buy a new EKP unit to cover the possibility / probability of failure.

So which of the many versions should I buy..the part number list shows a plethora of part numbers arguing that most can be interchangeabl.

I notice when I tap the latest version into various sites to buy one it cautions me that they don’t fit my car and only 2014 onwards cars.

I see folks talk about EKP 2,3,4 etc

Comments please …

I'll sell you an EKP 3 if you want. But you should do the cooling mods. Simple and cheap.

You didn't answer my questions....and...of the different cooling mods I saw which one do you recommend?-:) Please!

@Torgus can confirm but i believe it was highly recommended to swap out the thermal pad internally for a one that is thicker and transfers heat better. Also to add thermal compound or a thermal pad between the ekp and where it mounts in your chassis.

Active cooling will work best, that is what I would do. All the cooling mods(thermal pad, heat sinks, etc.) + active. At the very least change the thermal pad out and throw on some 2 cent heat sinks.

It is all right here:

They claim the EKP2 is the best but with cooling mods I imagine they are all about the same.

Or spend $700 and buy a BPM4:https://www.eospeed.com/products/bpm4-low-pressure-fuel-pump-controller?variant=21178983317586

EKP cooling mods are like $15 bucks. If you need a second pump a relay and hobbs is inexpensive. Then run a separate fuel line to an inline filter and then a Y adapter to add in 1st pump. New fuel lines. Boom done for much less than BMP4, and fuel for days.

The BPM4 is no longer available....

Did you contact them and they said they are discontinuing it? I know it says sold out online. Just curious.
Said 'sold out' when I tried to order it..didn't ask them if /when it would be back..gave the impression of 'Good Night Vienna'.. so bought 3 EKP units (the last two revisions) and going to become an EKP cooling guru..

I'd guess they're probably just out of stock, everybody world-wide is short on components now.

But if you can't wait, may as well Macgyver up an old EKP2. If I recall correctly, a thread on here showed that per design, the older EKP2 should be more robust than the newer EKP3's.

That would be my guess as well as all the work of bringing the product to the market is done. It seems to work well and you don't hear about failures or issues etc. They are using someone else's platform really torqbyte or whatever. Given the cost I bet they make decent margin...I agree probably just sold out vs discontinued. Otherwise why leave the webpage up?

Yeah the EKP2 appeared to be the best but I think any of them with the proper cooling mods will do just fine.

I won't be actuallly fitting my TTE500 still the autumn (fall) so the uprated LPFP and EKM are not needed till then..if th the BPM4s are back in stock I may well just buy one for peace of mind..in the meantime I'll play with these EKP3s and see what gives...I think on the Z4 E89 less of an issue with heat as its better mounted..

Bought 3 EKPs , two of the 046 version HW6 and the latest 513 version HW 7..

Boards look identical to this rooky..different firmware..back one one of the 406 boards doesn't show any obvious heat distress..will go with some better thermal pads between board and mounting plate.. 16 w/mk versus I guess 6 w/mk there? plus ic heatsinks on the main controller and choke and then same 16 wmk pad between box and bulkhead plus a few holes in the box..

The 535 was fitted by my Indy a few weeks ago..I’m not sure whether there were any issues…I bought one of the upgraded EKP controllers that has the later controller IC but not yet fitted ..when I get in there for my DSP/amp upgrade I’ll fit it then..I think E89s seem to suffer less from these problems as the controller is bolted to some steel chassis and is not insulated by seats..

Thanks for your reply. Is the start-up time getting longer? Can you help me ask if the installation of 535 is sent by the wife, does the wire need to be reversed?

Can you help me ask if I need to reverse the connection to install the 535lpfp cable?
