Mandatory turbo blankets, what about wastegate placement, and will the rear turbo fit with the hood? Looks pretty fricken cool though. Definitely interested to see what happens with it.

hey, i know this picture! This pic is form VI Engineered. I spoke to @Jonvigil82 on the phone recently when I was inquiring about their VI Engineered regular top mount kit and this was brought up briefly. I know the turbos being used are the new G25660 turbos from garrett and are extremely efficient yet come in a tiny package so if there is any turbo thats gonna do the job of a top mount twin, its these guys. they are rated at 660hp each and having a pair should be good for up to 1200whp

To everyone saying heat is gonna be a problem.. I think it will def be a challenge but I think with some attention to detail it wont be an issue. just have the manifold and downpipes heat wrapped, turbo blankets, and use tape where necessary and stuff could even be ceramic coated if need be.

Cant wait to see what happens with their kit. VI is on some next level stuff.

Spoke to someone who was talking about doing this about 8 months ago- sounded a bit ridiculous at the time but looking at it now the execution is better than I'd imagined and absolutely awesome turbos to utilize as well. There will be a few cons of course, but this will certainly be the baddest twin setup ever put into production if it goes that far- the biggest initial drawback is that it will be very expensive as even the turbos themselves are big money. Still though, thumbs up here!:sunglasses:

this is very true, but those G line turbos from garrett are soooo badass. Plus, how much would it be for a big huge single turbo that could flow up to 1200WHP? if you use a GTX5533R gen 2 for comparison from garrett, it goes for 3700$ on its own, and it surely will lag a lot more than this twin set up would.

I think ultimately there just isnt a big market for a kit that is 1200whp capable due to cost, but as an individual if your looking for 1200whp, its pretty safe to assume your gonna be paying A LOT more than an 800whp set up, any route you go. 4K in turbos actually isnt bad for what it is (1200whp capable).

Seems like this could be alot cheaper and easier if they use VTTs manifolds or MMP's then use a flange and a pipe to shift it up.

I actually suggested this in a previous thread once because twins are more fun but the labor involved in replacements is killer which made singles more popular. A twin top setup would solve this.

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to say add a third turbo, From the outputs of the first two? Then you could keep your stock ones in place and add a third top mount for more power. I'm guessing that this isn't possible though and you'd probably have to split the exhaust to two ports per turbo ect..

1st - 1,200 whp comes at a STEEP prices for a block/head/internals that can handle that power level, forget the expense of the turbos as they are on the cheaper side of the build expense when talking 1,200.

2nd - a twin top mount kit than can produce 800-900 without any (or minimal) lag is the future IMO....

3rd - Speed and power are EXPENSIVE. AS. HELL. This should not even be a factor if wanting this set-up.

Well, lets assume this kit alone would cost ~7k. 8-9k for totally built and installed engine, 3k for adequate clutch/flywheel, 2k for port injection, 1k for reinforced axles, 1k for prop shaft, 2k for differential. Then start adding up all the costs associated with heat mitigation and insulation. Probably throw in another 1-2k for suspension/bushing work since it'll take a bit to avoid killing yourself at 900whp, nevermind 1200.

That would totally melt one of my credit cards.

Let's not get ahead ourselves. Any 1200whp+ setup is going to lag big time on a 3.0L motor. Prob wont hit full boost till 5-5.5k rpm. Futhemore you don't need a twin setup to make 1200whp. A 7275 gen 2 or 7675 PTE will make that and Josh was able to throw 7675 on a Jpworkz kit

The turbos are cheap to make 1200 horsepower. The development cost to get there with any reliability is very pricey. Wait I forgot you all work for peanuts LOL
