Hey Guys and Gals!

As some of you may know I am developing a new 100% proprietary system to allow for the usual Steptronic Steering wheel found on most BMW's to be retrofitted with a more usable paddle shifter.

This system will use the OEM housings and hardware with a rather complex adapter plate that will take the standard "thumb paddle" and allow you to DIY at home a paddle of your choice.

Ive disassembled the OEM paddles from a LCI/Sport/And F series chassis to start taking measure of the new plate.

Essentially you will remove the stock paddles for the wheel, remove the giant eyesore of a OEM paddle, and then install an adapter that will allow you to use almost all DCT paddles you can purchase off ebay.

These will also be made in house on a 3D Printer after I finish the rounds fo prototyping. I will also detail the process here so you can refer back when they go live to see how easy it is to do. A video is likely needed since the removal of OEM hardware can be tricky.

Once done you'll have new paddles that not only look much better but will also operate like a traditional paddle. Even the left being downshift and right being up shift! Or you can use the usual push pull setting too if desired.

Hmm, I installed OEM dct paddles years ago without any adapter. IIRC I left one wire unplugged and they function correctly. Left downshift right upshift. I must be missing something?

Edit: Oh I see, this is for a standard steering wheel.

I've never been able to wrap my head around which paddles 'work' with which steering wheels. Seems like an endless rabbit hole of options and I've heard it at least three different ways.

Bottom line: I hate my 08 135i steptronic paddles and want to throw them in the trash for traditional paddles (left = down, right = up)

Sounds like this is the ticket!

This will prevent people from buying a whole new paddle system like the harness and all bits.

Usual price for the DCT style paddles vary from 200-600 for a set that work.

My adapters will be priced under $100 for the set which not only saves you money but also the sheer agrivation of having 2 options total.

The paddle harness I get from BMS is to help retrofit for those not inclined to mess with the cables themselves. It's a more turn key option.

But for those who can deal with wire splicing and the risks, you won't need to purchase the BMS harness :)

I have the BMW V2 performance steering wheel retrofitted with M3 paddle shifters. Can I just purchase the paddle shifters or will I need the whole set up?

True PnP outta make you a pretty penny (and deservedly so). I'll have my wallet waiting!

If you can bundle a DCT paddle retrofit with one of your wheel builds, then well really be cooking:)

Oh absolutely believe I will offer a full bundle package when it launches.

On the physical paddle part of the wheel, it will be an original NRW exclusive.

The PnP harness I will say is a BMS product that I have worked a deal to get in bulk for those who want - /+ styles of shifting.

To put in simply, this will solve for all paddle related issues - assuming it goes to my plan lol. I don't wish to over promise and under deliver. :)

Stay tuned for more!

I have nothing but high hopes that this all goes according to plan. I absolutely hate the paddles in my pre lci e90, they have got to be the dumbest, ugliest, POS paddles ever. I'd really like to have the left down right up function too.

+1. Would be nice to have a plug and play option to convert to the traditional - on left and + on the right paddle setup. the push style paddles are weak sauce!

Are you making it for those that have pre lci paddles or for those that have M3 modules/paddle shifters as well?
