any way to make max cool a constant on toggle while engine is running(and then defaults off next ignition cycle) and 8.5mins while engine is off?

Noticed v9 OTS stage 2+ map on IKMOS DCT it seems to surge on constant throttle and seems to be worse with sport mode. @jyamona id flash back but it seems my MHD wifi dongle is busted ?

Maybe, not interested at the moment. This was a stop gap while for ppl to use in the staging lines while I work on more involved on the fly stuff :)
I understand. I sometimes sit in the lanes for 20-30mins thinking it’ll take 5, and just being able to click it on instead of waiting to hear it shut down and turn it on again would be great.

Any plans to bring back the ability to auto launch logging as soon as the app is opened? My logging setup consists of an Android box sitting in the glovebox, and having MHD automatically open the logger as soon as it was launched was convenient.

I finally got MHD 2 on my NEXUS (5?) and agree with sentiments on the logging and the hard to hit buttons. As a UX person I would love to see buttons/tap targets that look tap'able and if something it hidden behind a swipe then a [...] menu is appreciated. I was lost for a little bit and that stinks as a user to not feel empowered. https://lawsofux.com/ see; Jakob's Law (familiarity with a product is what users are looking for)...

Otherwise I think the new flashing menus are great, the nav sections are an improvement, I love seeing 'high cooling' mode in the app (haven't tested yet). Code clearing worked great as well.

I had extensive problems with license transfers... The app somehow 'broke' obtaining licenses and instead of telling me that.. it would say "No USB cable detected" instead of "License issue" ... which was very irritating. Improvements here would be great!

For other improvements, I agree with logging improvements with graphing displays and the 'auto start logging'.

I'd also love to see 'historical' displays like the AuTel or other scan tools... like:

1596581946907.png

In which live data is mixed with a rolling historical view. I appreciate being able to correlate things like IATs, throttle position, boost when I am driving around and if I miss something then graphs like that are helpful to view what happened...

Thank you for the hard work @jyamona and crew (?)... LOTS of work to make apps like this and some people get cranky! THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK!

@jyamona

Just had some time today to try out some things on the F series n55 app and had some feedback that I think would be a good implementation.

1) for the alerts I believe even if the app is set for metric temperatures the alert range is still in Fahrenheit because I put in coolant upper range alerts are 117°C and it started beeping even before the car fully warmed up. So if it's possible if the app is in metric temperature mode can the alerts be set in metric too? Not a huge issue but it would be nice it the alerts followed what was being set.

2) the alerts only work at 30% pedal, can there be a 0% pedal and an infinite alert duration? That way for track guys if a temp range is met it will keep beeping until it cools to below the limit?

That's pretty much it, otherwise the app looks good!

@F87Source thank you for the feedback! To avoid #1, I think you may have to set the min and max values. It should be using the value that the gauge displays for the alert ranges (units aside). For #2, it should keep beeping / flashing infinitely currently. That duration is the "cool down time" for after it goes back to normal range. While the max threshold is exceeded, for example, it should not stop alerting.

No problem, I'm trying to give meaningful feedback to improve mhd!

For number 1 I did set both min and max values for example both coolant mins and maxes were at 117, but it alerted way before that leading me to think it was still in fahrenheit instead of celsius.

For number 2 the alerts would stop if the pedal was not depresed over 30%, could we change the minimum pedal depression for alerts to Include 0%? This way for track guys it will always keep beeping even in braking zones.

Thanks again!

Oh and a really important reason for having it beep even below 30% pedal is because if we track guys take a hard corner and oil pressure drops (for those of us with a standard non M sump set up) then it can beep even if the user is not on the gas letting the user know not to accelerate hard out of the corner until oil pressures stabilize.

Oh and a cool addition is if MHD would let us choose our own alert tones from the phone/tablet's alert sounds including music files like how an email application would. This way we can setup custom alert sounds like a voice saying oil pressure for oil, and coolant temps for coolant etc. But if multiple parameters reach their alert limits then have the alert go one by one such as oil temp sound, coolant temp sound, rpm sound etc. Now that would be really really nice!

So if I use the bar style gauges it doesn’t give me the correct ’minimum’ values. If I use standard ‘sport’ gauges. It works fine.

today is first time I tried them, so not sure if this is a new problem or not

both screens we clicked on while the car was running, so it should have shown similar min values

@jyamona is it possible to make the background black on the log graph screen as the white and some of the the colours like light green for instance
makes it almost impossible to read without a magnifying glass.

Or at least make a toggle for it if possible

Ok I have another weird bug @jyamona. When I set the rpm limiter like the following: 6800-6800 to get it to beep at 6800 rpm the tablet will beep at ~2000 rpm when the pedal is past 30%. Am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch? I will try 6800-7000 as a new setting to see if this fixes things.

I am also still unsure how to fix the temperature glitches as well, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and tried to enter 117-117 for Celsius but it still beeps way below that when my pedal is past 30%. So the temps in the settings menu must be in F, because it will beep when my water temps at cruising speed is only 80.

The alerts are triggered when (actual < MIN) OR (actual > MAX). So setting as 6800-6800, most all RPM will be less than the MIN so once you exceed the pedal threshold, it will alert you. The proper way to set it would be 0 - 6800

I see, thank you so much for clarifying. I did not know how to set these up since there was no instructions in the beginning lol, so I thought it was the range where you want alerts.

Thanks again!!

Same issue here aswell.
