I've got a buddy with a speedtech setup in a Z4, twin disc ceramic, Michelin Pilot Sports, and he's breaking axles. Had this happen several times now. He says he believes his car is sub 500whp. His previous car was an 800whp Mustang with drag slicks.

Two questions:
1) this make sense to anyone? Thoughts?
2) For the E46-based setup (which is what the Z4 is), are their axle or 8.8 rear conversion possibilities that are not thoopid expensive?

Thanks.

No. michelin pilot sports.
Ah, I missed that first time around. Does not make much sense, unless of course, he is making much more than he thinks he is ?
Is he breaking launching or roll ?
I have broken axles and 1 was 2nd gear pull, other was 3rd gear pull.
That alone made no sense since *most* people snap axles on launch.
So who knows 🤷🏾‍♂️

factory control arms?
aftermarket, maybe the joint is hyper extending or over compressing?

All the times I've broken axles at around that power level is due to wheel hop. Which is also a factor of having to much air in your tires
