Early impressions @ 85* ambient:
1. Suburban traffic: 14-20* IAT over ambient
2. Highway cruising 60-70 mph: consistently 10-12* IAT over ambient
3. A 2600-6600 rpm @ 20 psi / E75 (no meth) single 3rd gear pull: 4* delta IAT (96-100*)

NOTE: IAT's are w/ the Sharp's sheetmetal intake installed.

Still cleaning up the map; will post a log soon as it's "complete".

Looks pretty nice so far.. I'd be curious to see how much that manifold could actually alter intake air temps.. So you known and I know your gonna need to have one lol.. Eos just released a phenolic spacer :)

Feel free to email csv files or pre and post logs

So you finally got the CF DS! Nice! Did they supply you with the adapter? Think this is the first time I have seen a E9x with a CF shaft

So did DSS have to mock up ur set up before making your DS like they said? And did you have to send in your stock DS for fitment? I'm assuming you kept the M3 diff in?

Yes they supplied adapter & received everything the end of the 3rd week of quoted 3-5 wk lead. I was definitely pleased the turnaround time. The only thing that kind of sucks is that the rear CV joint is slightly thicker & I had to get new bolts. Thing is this diff has the "blue dot" which means it requires a special balancing bolt/washer, which I already had ordered from Germany. The special bolt is 3 grams lighter than the rest. My plan is to put one of the longer bolts on the belt sander until... it's 3 grams lighter.

Well... Everything I found googling DSS came back w/ "talk to Frank, he's great" & "Frank's the man, etc". I found an old lxforum post that listed an email so I tried it. Turns out he is owner & said no problem to recreate the JMAR's order that I was referencing (I had his sales order number). It's the same oem body/motor/trans & same oem diff. Frank agreed that it was pretty straight forward. I didn't disassemble anything. Honestly, the salesman I originally spoke w/ was just covering his @ss, but I wasn't trying to have my car down for potentially 3-5 weeks; I kind of assumed 5+ weeks.

Changing trans/diff fluid & swapping out uppers & trailing arms should happen tonight...

Any reviews on rear toe arms? Who's make noises? I've used spherical rod ends/heim joints on past projects & don't feel like replacing these every season. I held off on them until I'm ready to upgrade the front & get realigned. Who's arms are adjustable & have a rubber style rod end?

You said you ditched the protective shield? Is the CF shaft exposed to the road debris now?

Only about 10-12" is actually "exposed", but it's above my X pipe. It'll see road dust, but anything substantial is gonna hit the pipes. I may notch the shield to clear the CV & reinstall at some point, but didn't feel like screwing w/ it now. My back had enough crawling under this car.

I'm honestly more concerned w/ clipping the diff cover on something; sits about 4-5" off ground.

Funny that you say that. I liked the idea of the grease fittings too but they actually changed their design and don't have the fittings anymore. They said they went with a more reliable design. No clicking or squeaking though

I had spark plug boot sleeves over my O2 sensors on my fftec kit as well, but after reconsidering, you should really remove them. The main source of heat that they're seeing is conduction, not convection. So, you're actually trapping heat in rather than letting it out.
Overall, car looks awesome man!

Thanks man! Trying to build it somewhat reliable lol.

As far as the boots; they're pretty loose actually. Think they're 1.25" i.d. & I folded them in half so they're only 3" tall or so. There is a about 3/16" air gap all around them. My theory is for them to act like a little chimney & let the heat go ^^^ & not >>> toward the coils/wiring. Also act as a physical barrier if the harness shifts. Harness also has DEI fire sleeve over it.

Thoughts?

I'd focus more on shielding the items you want to keep cool. You want the heat to freely move out of the heat sink bung that the O2 sensors are in. Is there any room to put a heatshield between them and the VC?

I made one for the lower portion, but not really enough room to go higher. Really its just the proximity to the main harnesses I'm concerned with. I'll take a look at the area again when I replace my dead hpfp & add the @Twisted Tuning phenolic spacer this week hopefully.
