I made one for the lower portion, but not really enough room to go higher. Really its just the proximity to the main harnesses I'm concerned with. I'll take a look at the area again when I replace my dead hpfp & add the @Twisted Tuning phenolic spacer this week hopefully.

That looks good. You should be plenty fine. Just wrap the harness with fire sleeve and SS ties if you want the added piece of mind.

UPDATE: Fuel Pump Friday! Took a couple hours last night & replaced my hpfp & added @Twisted Tuning's phenolic spacer. Hpfp was in stock @ FCP. Justin hit a snag during machining, but stayed in communication & expedited shipping; great customer service.

Phenolic spacer unboxed.

So how was the seal up? They use just the copper spray adhesive correct? I've never sealed anything like that so I don't know how well it works

And did you need longer studs? I don't think we should need them to be honest.

No issues to report. Used copper on block > phenolic side; let the sharps o-rings seal up the phenolic > flange side. Did 2 wet coats on phenolic, letting it tack in between. After everything was all back together I let it idle for 5-10 mins, then parked overnight. Figured get the copper good & warmed up, then let it cure before pushing boost through it.

No studs needed. Sharps flange is thinner than the oem flange to start with. I did have to shorten the aluminum spacer I made for the cylinder 1 bolt though [pics earlier in thread].

Excellent, I trust they chose the right way to seal it up I've just never used it.

Yes I noticed the flange is much thinner that's why I assumed no studs would be needed.

Can is looking great Adam it really is! You should be proud of how clean you did a lot of the work buddy! Reminds me of how I was with my EVO before Dominic the destroyer came along 4 years ago lol(my son)

Some may argue the "right" way is w/ o-rings. I held off getting a PI plate for awhile & mainly bought the sharps because I didn't want 2 sets of o-rings to deal with. This spacer basically puts me back at that same decision... I could have copper'd both sides of phenolic, but wanted to use the o-rings seal so future manifold removal wouldn't be an issue. Justin felt copper on both sides would not be an issue on removal down the road, but agreed doing it my way would be just fine. If you want o-ring sealing for both sides, EOS's spacer has grooves milled.

Thanks. It's turning into a little bit of a money pit. Hopefully it lasts a little while before I have to tear into motor.

I say we rip this manifold off and make room for a better HPFP. Easier to redesign the intake manifold IMO...

I don't totally follow? Make make room with the intake off? The newest version of pump is actually really good.. What we need is a higher volume pump

That is what I mean. The Double shotgun and those kinds of upgrades have a packaging problem right now. If we cleared some space in that area, maybe some pumps from other cars would become a possibility. Just thinking out loud.

Do you happen to have any videos of the exhaust setup with the single turbo?

UPDATE: Wrenching Wednesday: Finished out rear suspension round 1.
Megan toe arms

What I didn't get a pic of was the sharpie marks I made on the alignment bolts/subframe. Starting @ oem length & marking bolts allowed me to get the alignment very close.
Round 2 - trailing arm bushings. Round 3 - subframe bushings.

Also working a deal to change up the interior...

Be sure to check the bearings on those periodically. They have been known to wear out fast.

Thanks. It's not a daily anymore & the dust shields should help IMO [comparing to my past experience w/ rod ends/heim joints]. If they get noisy, I'll at least be able to reuse the center adjuster & use the Megan ends for measurements toward a better solution.

UPDATE: New hpfp & current tune seem to be getting along nicely... Turning up the boost & screwing it all up again soon.

Also, acquired an 09 E92 ///M black Novillo leather interior. About 55k miles, very good condition. No splits, cracks, tears or wear marks. Includes full heated and power front seats, rear seats, front and rear door cards, split center arm rest. Plan is to mix & match my gray w/ black. I want a more unique look & something easier to keep clean. Shopping for the dumb little things next [window switches, kick panels, sill plates etc]. Thankfully a lot of people make track cars & interior stuff is actually pretty reasonable... Mirrors on the other hand, FML lol.

I have a heated steering wheel(I did) does that mean my mirrors are heated also? I have the normal power folding 335i mirrors.

Is there something special about the M3 mirrors except that extra bar that goes across? Just cosmetic, right?
