Been a little while, figured id post some updates. The stock motor never gave up with the 66mm on 34-35psi, she just kept on going. Hit a personal best of 166mph at mpact, wanted a 1/4 et pb, but ended up with a mph best of 146mph. Good enough i suppose lol.

Fast forward, got rid of the small bw 66mm and went with a pulsar 7170g, as well as built motor. Built 8 bolt, css, stock comp manley pistons, manley rods, arp hardware, ported head, ferrea valvetrain with shrick high lift cams.

Still on first revision, but cold = no traction.

That thing is moving :D
How much boost and timing is this?

How much torque did you apply to the ARP headstuds during assembly? Did you also do some heat cycles and retorqued the studs again?

I want a 135i convertible to build on so bad.

But my kids would starve with me spending every penny building it. Lol

That thing looks great!

Well, went to TNT last night, car kept going super rich (10.2afrs) and misfiring. Best was 10.3 at 154mph right off the trailer. The one and only complete (still troublesome) pass of the night :/. Time to put her away and switching to maxxecu/8hp70 over winter. Will be in full force next year!

Little update:

From last track outing and the stupid misfire/running rich. Since then went maxxecu, 8hp70 and a solid 8.8 setup. This year will be stronger, faster, sexier ;)

Will this car still be Doc tuned ? What is the experience with any tuning he has done for you thus far ?
Lots talk smack, yet many others love him.
I have seen reputable tuners blow motors, logs that look like crap, etc Yet people still swear by them and their experience.

On the MaxxECU, I have the Brett (WillitRun) behind the keyboard. That man knows his shit with maxx.

As for experience with doc, I recommend him. Ive had alot of well known tuners throughout the years (motive, shoup, jsr, wedge, tribila, etc). And doc just seemed to get me to where I wanted to be and strong. I have no hate on the other tuners, but doc is my go to. As for response time, quality of tune, and just straight up car loved it. Every tuner has their horror stories, and not all horror stories are their fault either.

Thanks ! Many clown the Doc and many love his tunes. I am with you on well known tuners. I won't mention names but if I posted some logs on certain tunes, people would be SHOCKED that it was done by that specific tuner. I remember Carabuser commenting on someones log a while back that he would not be happy with that tune if it was his car....I know who tuned that car and it is a WELL known tuner.

I agree. There are many ways to skin a cat. And not all tuners will agree with other tuners. If you dont have faith in your tuner, than you should pick another tuner lol.

I might just go to the dark side and hit up the DOC and see for myself if anything changes.
My car runs fine and drivability is excellent. I think I just need to move to a different platform really.
