i dont have any pictures with the top down with the widebody on since it was colder in NJ when i put it on, and right now my car is in a million pieces because im doing alot to it for the upcoming season
not alot of people care much for them, there is only 1 other one in NJ that is widebody and pushing it and i just found out about him about 2 weeks ago. the reason i have mine was because i couldnt find a stick N54 anywhere around except for 135i but soft top convertibles and than mine showed up. i was looking at a coupe before but the dealership sold it the day before i went to look at it
Im guessing its the added weight that nobody cares for ? I got mine because my daughter would love taking drives with the top down. Since then I squeezed a little more power out of it to have some fun. Obviously the car would be much faster / quicker if it were 500lbs lighter though
my one son always asks for the top down even if its cold as hell outside lol, the added weight can be taken care of too because those seats arent light, i have braum seats probably like 50 lbs lighter than the stock seats and the hoot and trunk lighten it up a bit too...taking out cats switching the exhaust eventually the car gets lighter haha
Right.....but same mods done to a coupe, still leaves a 500lb gap. Dont get me wrong, my car moves well, but mod for mod, a hardtop would move that much faster. I dont regret modding this car. Its fun to drive and great being able to drop the top.
Hard tops are bad ass. The weight is worth it imo, not that I have one. You can always add HP and cut some weight etc. As stated above.
What other hard top convertible can you get at this price point and make gobs of HP? None that I am aware of.
