Finally got around to compiling this video together from NoFlyZone... let me know what you think! It was too hot for me to feel comfortable about running high boost 6 hours away from home.

Awesome! Those prolonged runs sure are much harder on the car. How do you argue with the sound of the Z06 tho. Those were some good pulls, I love it!

Nice not bad for a manual and conditions but those shift bogs are killing me

They will be smashing gears soon. Might even make me a bit jealous of the manual at that point. But, its DCT land for me. Speaking on this, do manuals have a tendency to break the diff pinion also? Or is this just a DCT thing?

@suspenceful - fellow 6MT here, how's the BMW Performance shifter + teflon shifter bushings? Is 2nd gear still notchy?

The Z06 definitely sounds mean. I wish my exhaust tone came thru in videos better. In person, it's intoxicating... people always tell me how amazing it sounds. Then I watch a video and it sounds like a bee buzzing around in a can, lol. Oh well.

Same - waiting on @jyamona's fix to go public so I can stop getting gapped.

Not sure about this...

I'm starting to wonder if I have an OEM shifter. I bought the car and the PO mentioned it had a BMW Performance shifter, but it doesn't feel like it anymore. 1-2 shift is painful sometimes. I just bought an RTD shifter, gonna see how that feels in comparison!

Painful shifts. Get an AKG shifter, or CAE if you want to ball out, some solid bushings in the trans and on the motor, fix your shift bog and shift at 7k.

Before that, though, you can try Red Line D4 ATF in the trans. Should fix up your 1-2 shift and everything in between. It fixed my grind on my E90 and I run it in my 135 track car. Recommended by BimmerWorld President James Clay. It works.

I already have Redline D4 ATF in the trans. It's probably do for a flush/fill though, as much as I reef on this transmission.

This showed up at my door yesterday. Got a shift-bog flash from Wedge to test out. I've had the clutch wire unplugged for Terry's JB4 "fix", so I didn't think NLS would work. But I tested it last night and it works decently. Hoping all of these things combined will finally get rid of the bog. I'll report back.

If the D4 wasn’t doing it for you, the next step is Lightweight Shockproof.

The RTD shifter is a nice piece. You have to upgrade motor and trans mounts to close to solid to use it effectively since it’s chassis mounted. Any slop in there will only make your shifting problems worse. Good luck.

I put brand new OEM motor mounts in less than 3k miles ago, along with some red poly trans mounts. Hoping for the best.

OEM motor mounts move a fuck ton, new or not. It's your car and your choice, but not a good move to run chassis mounted shifters like that.

When you're ready to change, I recommend this setup.

I'll see how it feels and go from there. Thanks for the link and input, I'll save it for the future.

I got my RTD shifter second-hand from someone who never installed it. Just put it in this weekend and it's incredible. The 2-3 shift is nuts, all you have to do is push straight up.

Trans still grinds from 1-2, so I'm going to try to new fluid this weekend.

What HP was the car putting down on each day?

With the DA, the first day was probably 550whp, second day was probably 600whp.

Are you able to close the ashtray to hide the spring area?

Other than chassis mounted vs the stock arm, is it just crisper shifts? If poly everything doesnt help, how would the rtd? I did upgraded poly everything, and misc parts and get 2nd lockout so unsure how it would help at 7krpm. Thats just even more deflection not being trans mounted?
