The build is spot on. The fit and finish are BETTER than stock. I thought the bolt holes were too loose, but it is the exact same as the stock oem pulley bolt holes so no worries. Same weight as stock pulley. Feels ultra smooth and quiet and no issues at all WOT in terms of belt damage or anything. Torqued at 21 Nm each bolt (x3) with blue loctite.

Gives me peace of mind because even as I replaced the other two month old stock oem power steering pulley, I saw that the plastic 'newish' pulley already had visible wear signs just from two months of usage. It would have failed again in the first year.

This aluminum one is spot on fit and rock solid. I think it may be the last power steering pulley I ever buy for this car, unless there is some unknown force that manages to distort the aluminum as doublespaces had mentioned. But I seriously can't see that happening. We will see. Another one year review will come.

I have the same one, after my original plastic PS pulley lost a fight. Running this pulley for about a year, no issues.

I would think if you're regularly chipping PS Pulleys you may want to fix the motorMounts or whatever issue is causing the contact. Or you can go with this pulley and maybe damage the pump shaft or something else. Sometimes certain components are designed destructible to protect other more expensive components. Just Saying.

My car does not have any motor mount contact issues. Never has. The pulley chip simply because they are cheap plastic. People who drive modded cars and aggressive drivers will chip them without contacting anything. I literally bought a brand new pulley at the BMW dealership and when I got home I took it out and it crumbled at the edges in my hand. I didn't even hold it tight. That same day I brought it back and went to another dealership to get another one and that one stayed intact for less than one month.

Already done.
Other pulleys do not have metal versions.

If youre doing maintenance, belts, pulleys, tensioner, etc and get free shipping then it works out

It would be an amateur mistake to order things below free shipping threshold. So your complaint is a bit strange. The only reason why I would not order from ecs or fcp is taxes. However, if the part is a wear and tear item, I would order from fcp even with taxation.

How did all of you torque the pulley bolts? They need to be set at 21nm or 186 inch lbs. I tried with leather gloves but I could not hold the pulley with my left hand while operating the torque wrench in my right hand.

You can use two wrenches to hold. Or you can hand tight two first, stick skinny screwdriver into third hole to hold and torque the two first, then install and torque last bolt using the already torqued bolts as lever with second wrench.

Or you can install last bolt semi tight, then install belt and that will hold the pulley down while you torque last bolt.

Sorry to revive a old thread, but what exactly happens to the oem power steering pulley? I have recently produced a squeaking noise at idle. My belt and tensioners have been recently replaced.

Did you change the belts when replacing the tensioner? Always replace belts if you're already there.

Yup belt was replaced with the pulley and tensioner.

Then your alternator pulley is toast.
