I'm mainly in the Dutchess/Orange County area. I try to keep the branches comms channels separated so......

For tuning inquires shoot me an email to: [email protected]

For inquiries about the Car Club, send email to: [email protected]

I've taken a few apart and the oil always looks the same. BAD. I wouldn't say super dirty persay. But I will say that no oil should be left unchanged. of the HPFP's I've opened up there were a few different failure points.

-fuel chamber hairline fractures
-piston damage (cracking or somehow burred)
-solenoid wornout
-internal HPFP valve gets stuck open or closed
-HPFP filter clogged like hell

Being that virtually each one had a different failure, it was tough to decide what the cause was. but couple conclusions.....

-internal failure due to high ethanol content which in turn drastically lowers fuel lubricity (I usually tell all my clients on E85 to run a couple tanks of regular 93oct through the car every 5 or so tanks of e85 if they are running E50 or more). Being that lubricity it can increase heat build-up.

-oil needs to be changed/serviced periodically just like everything else on the car. old fuel diluted oil in there if a seal goes bad will cause failure

these are just my findings on like five pumps i've completely torn down. I'm honestly not sure what type of oil they used in them. I couldn't get a distinct scent off of them since they were all pretty much past the point of breakdown.

Off topic: anyone here willing to donate or have a spare I can purchase of an N54, N55, and Late E or F series N55 vacuum pump assembly? I need all 3, so if anyone has some laying around they are willing to donate or allow me to purchase, it would be much appreciated. Let me know.

PM me, I have an old hpfp lying around, which I suspect was dead from a bad fuel valve solenoid (have logs of that too).

N54 and N55 Cars
Any updates?

Working out the N55 (Late E-series and F-series) solution right now first ahead of the N54 and Early E-series N55 models. The prior need fueling support more right now, and are the future of things moving forward anyway. Larger demand

Once i release that, i'll do the N54 and early E-series N55. So that solution will more than likely be pushed to Q3 2018. and the the Late E-series/F-series N55 will be moved up in priority to Q1/Q2 2018.

Some people may not like that update, but it is what it is.

Every site seems to have masses of N54 discussions and members online compared to the later engine types and 3-series models and N54 seems to be the platform of choice by the tuning enthusiasts - by a very large margin. Providing solutions for the other markets first may just slightly balance the markets. Slightly, since every petrolhead went with N54 already. So I don't agree with the market priorization, however, I will buy your N54 HPFP upgrade when it is available.

TTFS has a great solution for the N55, yours might be better but Im just trying to convince you back on the N54 so I can get rid of PI!

Honestly sounds like this was just another pipe dream from a group that had no idea the engineering involved in making something like this.

Based on prior feedback and experience on this platform, it sounds like the “change” from N54 was more so due to design challenges/reality setting in than market strategy. I’m not holding my breath on an N55 solution either.

Looks like VTT really has the market share in regards to running HPFP only on N54

I think this is the right thing for the community. The N54 already has the shotguns from VTT, the real need is the n55. Wise choice.

Only problem there is that the shotgun from VTT has been out for quite awhile and the only feedback I have heard has been negative...with the exception of Tony of course. So in my mind, its not a solution until independent verification in mass has been shown.

You mean like the multi-page thread where about 10 people have been posting up their experiences with it. Only one person said anything negative and it was because they misread the install document. After VTT pointed it out they had their Ah-Ha moment. The only negative trend is just the complexity of the install.

Or like the multi page thread over on bummerboost (which is a known VTT hater site) where they praised the Shotgun too?

There were some problems with the original mounting bracket, problems that VTT (supposedly) made right with warranty coverage. The new mounting bracket doesn't have those problems and the only reviews on the current version have been glowing.
