Hey guys, Dave from Ambient Thermal Management here. I am one of the new owners of ATM and just wanted to share some of the technical information of our legendary E9X FMIC with you. ATM has been dormant so it's been a while since our data has been posted. Here are some of the details:

SIZE- We've measured the available area in front of the bumper in both depth and height and custom designed an intercooler that makes the most of this space - the result is an intercooler with 56% more frontal area and 56% more core volume than stock.

CORE- ATM is the only FMIC manufacturer producing a stepped core as one single assembly. Our core is custom made to our specifications, including the ambient and charge row height and internal and external fin count. And of course, at the heart of every ATM intercooler core is our unique rounded header bars which act as a velocity stack for the charge rows, increasing the flow efficiency from 80% to 98%.

PLUMBING- ATM opted not to utilize the factory plumbing. The reasoning is simple: the E80/90 series cars utilize restrictive charge pipes that shrink down to less than 2" ID. Our intercooler kit uses 2.5" ID silicone charge pipes and a 2.5" OD aluminum J-Tube (2009+ vehicles).

ENDTANK DESIGN- All endtanks are not created equal. Air likes to flow in a smooth, curved radius just like you see on the rounded cast endtanks of the ATM FMIC.

The end result is the ATM FMIC's ability to remove more temperature, meet the targeted air flow, and minimize pressure drop in your BMW.

And as you can see, we're now offering additional finish options! Black or silver powdercoat.

Now for the stuff you want to see, here's the data showing the high efficiency of our infamous FMIC core:

And as many of you know, there are a number of independently-tested logs across the web showing the high efficiency of the ATM core. Here are a few:

Hey guys! Wanna introduce you to Dave from ATM!

I'll be working pretty closely with Dave on some products that he plans to be releasing pretty soon.

Both our schedules kinda conflict a bit so we are doing are best to to get together so have patience it will be worth it for sure!

He currently has a great intercooler out, to my knowledge it is the first ever stepped design.. Yup that's right before all the others we know so well ;)

Like I said he's got a nice surprise up his sleeve and I'll leave that up to him when he wants to release details..

Make sure any questions you have direct them at @ATMSpeedShop when it comes to technical details and or pricing!!

Maybe just maybe if we can show him a bit of interest we can get a group buy going from him :)

Our upcoming product is along the lines of a N54/N55 race exhaust. Based on one that is still very popular but unfortunately out of production for some time :) More details to come......

How would this thing perform on higher powered applications? Upgraded twins or ST. I have a ST and I've been slowly looking into upgrading my FMIC as the Big Tom just can't handle it.

We had our unit on a 700whp ST car in the past and it did excellent! But stay tuned......we have a few customers w/higher power setups that will be logging/reviewing very soon :)

So guys I went over to Daves shop right last night and burned some midnight methanol with him fitting and stuff like that and talking about somethings the n54 community needs and wants.. Anyways he gave me permission to post up some teaser pics.. Some of you guys may recognize the design.. Its a V2 let's say of probably the most wanted exhaust for our cars.. There will be a few revisions to the design you see and I'm trying to talk him into slip joints for the last rear section to ease install.. Let Dave know what you think and as always constructive criticism is always welcome!

How much meth was being used on the 700whp ST for its dyno run?
