hmmm thats odd, maybe it has to do with the age. How many miles were on it stock? When new and paired with a SMFW, ive always heard of the 335is/550i holding over 500LB Ft or torque at the wheels with no problems. In the dinan stage 3 upgrade package for the 550i, it pushes around 581 lb ft of torque and it uses the stock clutch, dinan never recommends an upgraded clutch for that package, So id say its a pretty damn strong clutch for being oem and def considered an upgrade from stock IMO.

If you haven't already seen it, Suspenseful has an amazing website and documentation of the 335is doing well. Heres a link http://my1series.com/2017/01/01/bmw-335is-550i-clutch-upgrade/

But maybe I should just jump straight to a spec stage 3+ when I do my clutch, still have 100% decided. It all depends if I'm going to eventually do a turbo upgrade or not

They are better than OEM but they're a little overrated on the forums. 20k miles sure I guess, although I've seen guys with 20k miles with a 335is on a FBO OEM turbo setup have them slipping at spool around 500tq or less. I'd put them a solid 50wtq above OEM.

That's cool. Mine started slipping the day I tuned it to 460.

Even stock will hold 460 for a while -maybe you had some oil on yours/etc?

Yep, good cheap minor upgrade. Can't beat it for $400. Can't expect it to compare to a spec 3+ or twin disc. If you don't launch much they last a while. Some people go through clutches faster than others. Held ~600 wtq for me for a while but I'm not that hard on clutches.

The fact Guam has a 1/4 mile is very cool given it is small as shit.

Ha yea, it is made of a coral based asphalt as far as I know, it ate tires real fast. They also have a huge area for drifting and auto-x. When i left they were trying to get the money to put in a road course.

Fucking wild. Must be for all the US armed forces there I assume? Or that is how it can exist?

Can't be cheap to get cars there and can't be a lot of performance shops.

The military helps alot with cars coming onto the island, but there are a few big race shops, and off road racing, mudding, and rock crawling is huge out there. 2 quick stories, i got a perfect single owner e36 with under 40k miles for about 5k out there. A jeep wrangler has a huge guam tax on it bringing the final bill for a 2 door wrangler sport to nearly 38000.00, for the same thing I paid 19 for mine brand new with 12 miles on it in Nebraska before i went out there.
