Hi everyone, i have a 08 135i e88. Guess its been near 2 years since i bought it. After alot of expensive work that i didnt expect to do. I finally got her running well. So I did all the necessary maintenance items gaskets and such.
Then started with mhd and the 30ff codes started. Changed everything from intakes to intake manifold.
Was 1. Warn turbo seals and loose wastegates
2. My oem inlet on rear turbo was not at all tight.
So as she sits now after pretty much continual work for as long as I've owned her.

When i first bought my car the suspension was shot so i had new oem suspension done. Figured id go with that for awhile until i figured out which way i wanted to go. Its about 20k miles on it now. So im starting to think about aftermarket setup now.

The turbo job was my 1st bigger under car on my back job I've attempted in near 20 years. I did last winter. The oem side vrsf inlets are a nightmare to fit and i popped a hole in my radiator trying to get the fan back in. So i added the csf radiator at that point.
I also had 2 o-ring leaks and had to have a friend go back in and fix them, at that point it was too cold to work in my garage.

Ive recently switched phones and guess i didnt save the last 3 months of pics i took. Which sucks . so all these pics are a year to 2 years old. I will get fresh ones this week and ad them. Alot is different

Future for this car is a smaller single turbo. I dont need 800hp, but 600 spooling a bit quicker would be nice. And the simplicity of a single with 1 oil line in and one out appeals to me.
My turbos still have less than 5k miles on them and ive already been back in there twice to fix oil leaks. Either i really suck with o-rings or i got a poor quality install kit because they were all brand new when i installed them. Im thinking precision 6062 or similar.

I have a rare opportunity to cryogenically freeze parts. My friends just purchased a chamber and need some test pieces. They are doing all their internals on there track cars, but i think i may pull the transmission. Disassemble it and freeze every part. Then pay someone to put it back together properly.

Also i been testing with carbon fiber. Id like to make new fenders for front and back and have them flared for better tire and wheel fitment. I dont like the widebody kits on the market. But i do like the 1m. So im trying to sort that out as well. I did some interior pieces with the real carbon, but realized the vinyl wrap looks cleaner and better so i ripped it all off and wrapped them. I have experience with vacuum infusion so i will test my skills soon

So i been busy on this. I decided on the new doc race dr700 kit and got it with a 6266 gen2. Even though the delivery date on these kits was supposed to be 3/1 it finally fully shipped on 4/1. So my car was up on stands for a month. So i did loads of other things. First i ripped off the cf trim i made. With the epoxy its just too thick to fit anything properly and i put cf wrap on it

I got a prometh kit. I already had snow single nozzle kit. So i had to change pump to a more flowing unit even though less psi and make the line from tank to pump larger and of course all this was very tight and a pain to put together after it went to engine bay

Finally my turbo kit arrived. I put everything in. It is so frickin tight. I have 200 cuts on my hands and got everything up pretty quickly. It all fit the way doc race said it would. And i did do it with subframe and suspension in. Just to see if i could.

So now i ran the coolant relocation. Not many parts were in the kit for this. I went with 335d coolant rez and bms 335d chargepipe. And everything lined up nicely and went in correct. I pushed this job back to the end because i thought it would be a pita. But it was alot easier than i thought.
Screwed up my instrument cluster next. Just wanted to put new faces on and my dials went wacky. Tried to fix them. Just kept going crazy. So i went into the dial gears and really screwed everything up. Lol. So i just ordered a used one from redline and will send mine out for some customization to clustersandcoding. Hopefully i can code used cluster with protools.
And my relocated PR coils no longer fit so i jave to wait until tuesday to get the relocated relocation kit lol.
During the wait i primed the oil and the coolant. So far no leaks!!!!!

I have yet to install hobbs switch for pump or new pump. And i have a trans service kit to do also.
I added jb4 and bms mac solenoid and will do a pure evil bef and a custom trans tune but i have to wait on that until i get this running properly and get a trans cooler of some sort

So alot has changed since this was last updated. I ditched the jb4, and went with Motiv Relfex and flex box. Im moving to a more e85 friendly area. So i also sold the ebay manifold and the prometh kit. Took a bath on everything. Lol.
I added BMP intake manifold with 750 injectors.
Oh and this is on a new engine w 55k miles.
My jack pad slipped off and i cracked my oil pan right after my car was finished. I was changing motor mounts. It cracked and oil pooled all over the floor!! My nice green molygen. So after taking out the old oil pan i found large copper shavings in the pan. Cgecked oil pickup tube and the same thing. 2 years ago i jad to have bearings replaced and was told its 50/50 they hold up and yes it was same cylinder. My crank is fine but they are shaving off bearing gook. And im not sure of they have to cut it or not. So i got a beautiful used crank that is being buffed out and my block being cleaned up is in great shape. My cylinder head aside from some soft lifters on exhaust side is in beautiful shape. So i bought cp pistons, manley rods, calico bearings, king mains, arp head studs and a MR pinned crank hub.
In the mean time engine is in. Port is ready. HP28 trans is in. Racingdiffs lsd conversion is in. Waiting on a new trans wiring harness, and to get my car vin coded for the new trans tomorrow. Then im doing a dbl oil flush. And flashing Motiv flex fuel base tune and sutphin trans tune and i should be ready to go.

Definitely will update. Right now we are waiting on xhp to get back about the trans being a 6hp28. Taking them forever. But i have 1 small issue anyway. I lost the little plastic piece that goes into the fuel sending unit that you plug the fuel line into. Dont think i ever saw it. But i know it was there because when i hooked up battery today to get the trans coded to my vin. Fuel sprayed everywhere. So had to buy a whole new sending unit to take off 1 little plastic part. Lol.

Dont know yet my car is still on jackstands. Ive got good reviews from a few users and when i was finished and spun my rear tire and both went in the same direction i was happy. But im a couple days away from driving it. Waiting on 1 last small part. I figured for $300 it was worth a try. Im not manual and not going for huge power so i didnt see the need for a $4500 8.8 kit. Ill run the racingdiffs for a bit and see how it goes and if i have any issues i figure ill get a helical of some sort down the road. Ill let you know how it does. Car is learning a new trans so no burnouts for a little bit. Lol
