I figured I would start a thread about my last year and a half journey. I bought a 08 E92 335i with 45k miles on it here in Atlanta in April of 2015. I went FBO within the first 3 weeks of owning the car. 6 months in I installed VRSF inlets. I had a periodic misfire on cylinder 3 could not seem to determine the problem. I spent the better part of 3-4 months not able to full throttle my car or it would misfire. Long story short the dealership installed the injector wrong and the head was damaged and allowing exhaust to pass. So a new head was purchased and the fun began.

So after I pulled the engine and replaced the head I decided I never want to do this again. So I started researching single turbo kits. I purchased a Garrett 3582r, Jpworkz hot parts, Tial wastegates and made my own lines. I got the fittings for coolant and Oil from Jason@Propulsive and started to wait for my manifold. 3 months later it came in.

While waiting on the manifold to get ceramic coated I replaced every rubber hose in the coolant system, water pump, transmission filter, new trans fluid, all the control arms with M3 bits, installed a Mfactory 3.46 LSD, upgraded the brake lines to stoptech braided lines, and installed new stoptech rotors.

After installing all lines, fittings and adapters I dropped the motor and transmission back in the car. This made some things interesting. I found that my turbo selection was keeping the hood from closing with the JPWORKZ manifold and I did not like the front wastegate placement. So I uninstalled everything, got rid of the JPWORKZ manifold and ordered a VM top mount kit.

Hood was 3/8 and inch off and the wastegate flange was not an option without getting the old one removed and a new one welded on. Jerry offered to fix it but I decided to order a VM kit.

Were you an early adopter? I don't recall when he started doing his gig

While I was waiting on my VM kit to get here I decided to get rid of my ugly walnut trim. I had a local shop wrap everything in alcantara, then ordered a new steering wheel from Colby wheel.

Oh nice, that alcantara trim looks awesome! How secure is the fabric? I had the v1 performance steering wheel with the shift lights, the alcantara on that was great.

Not sure on the how to, that's why I paid a local professional. He ordered the fabric from Gulf Fabrics in Florida. I removed all the trim and took it to his shop.

Ah I gotcha. I have a darker trim, not sure what its called, but its acceptable. I remember seeing some Piano Black Individual trim once. Looked amazing but got dirty too quick for me to seriously consider it. I think the 335is has good aluminum trim.
