Quick review: 034 Motorsports engine mounts

Engine mounts aren't a very exciting topic but none the less they're an important one. If you don't want additional NVH, you're either stuck with the OEM mounts or the 335is mounts... well, that's no longer true.

ECS tuning is selling the 034 motorsports N54 engine mounts, which differ from the OEM ones (~45 durometer equivalent/liquid filled) in that they're solid rubber and stiffer (50 durometer) without adding significant noise, vibration, or harshness. We removed the 335is mounts from the shop car and bolted these right up. After we could tell that the car feels more direct, and we didn't notice any additional NVH (Tony is very sensitive to NVH on a car that isn't a dedicated race car). Better than 335is, no additional NVH to speak of, should be more reliable, and cheaper. Can't go wrong. Check them out.

Was waiting on a review of these. I did poly mounts on a previous car and hated it. I'll most likely go with the 034s over the 335is set.

I was able to order them individually from their website. I just swapped my passenger side for an IS mount and will throw one of these on the driver side.

Really not too much to tackle. Just remove top bolt, drop belly pan, jack engine up with a piece of wood under oil pan, remove lower bolts and slide in. No modification needed. Some DIY floating around. You really have to get the engine jacked up to the highest it will go which can be a bit unnerving on jack stands but that's about it.

Can't remember if I dropped steering rack but that's only 2 bolts. They do recommend you replace those after loosening and after dropping my rack 10-15 times with the same bolts one of them started backing out on it's own  . So yea, replace those if you drop your rack often.

I wonder if this would be worth doing... I really do not like NVH though.

From my understanding there's hardly any if at all with these. And in his review he mentioned how sensitive Tony is to NVH in a non race car. Then went on to say Tony loves them. I'd imagine they're a safe bet for low NVH. Install should be cake. I've taken mine out before for various reasons

Installed a driver side mount yesterday. You have to look very carefully to notice a difference. I was trying to confirm the solid internals by knocking on it like a coconut and slapping it like a cave man but couldn't tell. Either way, zero NVH increase just like Chris mentioned.

Did you say, "Ooooh Ooooh Ahhh Ahhh"? If not, you might give that a shot.

Is there a noticeable improvement in feel?

I can tell it's been replaced but don't think anyone who wasn't very familiar with their car would notice. Relative to a stock mount, really don't know what difference would have been felt.

I ordered a driver mount two weeks ago. Called them today, it hasn't shipped. Also my PCV kit says delivered over a week ago. Nothing has arrived. Makes me wonder, how much other stuff I have forgotten I've ordered which hasn't arrived.

Okay, my driver side mount came in today. I'm not sure what it is about them which make the left and right different. It looks identical to my passenger side mount which I no longer need since I have a mount with my ST kit.

I have them and tranny mounts. Awesome upgrade. Well worth the money. You can notice the vibrations in a clear bottle of water but you can't feel them. Engine feels planted and not sloppy. ECS sent me 2 lefts and I installed anyway. The fit perfectly.

I was thinking the same thing....What is the difference between the left and right mounts?

My ST kit comes with a passenger motor mount bracket and urethane mount which adds a bit of vibration at stock idle so I'll be raising the idle to around 800 where there appears to be none or little. So if there was any vibration for the 034 mount at stock idle, I can't tell since the pass has more.

Feel like my driver side one is getting worn after only a few thousand miles. Engine starting to do the shimmy popnlok on start up again. Going to check them out next time car is in the air as soon it's back in my garage.

That is not promising... What kind of warranty do they have if any?
