If I am going to only run pump gas at what level is the stock low pressure fuel pump max out on a E60 535i?

Hey Kaane, are you referring to whp level? Are you looking to know how much horsepower you can support off of your oem supplied fuel system? If so This question is loaded with variables. Keep track of your data logs. That will prevail over anybody’s arbitrary numbers. Please dont base it off random people giving you “tested” numbers. There are several post here, which you may try narrowing down with the search bar.

If your looking to turn boost up, and begin on your way to making more power with the n54. I would first recommend boosting your fueling capability. Your wallet/budget will thank you, from preventing an engine loss. Today’s vendors have so many options now, and very competitive prices.

My goals are only 400whp, so just making sure I am not buying anything I really don't need. I have inlets, downpipes and upgraded fmic. Do most bolt on setups that run pump require fuel pump?

If you have a healthy hpfp and lpfp you can make 400whp. E30 mix or E40 depending on your logs. If not, a simple inline fuel pump and you should be fine as far as fueling is concerned.

With FBO and a tune, you should be able to hit 400whp on pump gas. I run CA91 piss fuel with all my mods and only put down around 430whp. For more power, you need ethanol or higher octane fuel. If you want to run ethanol, you just need a wahlbro 450 pump thats compatible with e85

93 pump gas stock twins peak record is 423hp 500 wtq w/ inlets, no outlets. Usually on MHD 2+ you should dyno at or close to 400whp at some point in the rev range.

Always a good idea to have a LPFP upgrade, but if you're not sure and are slowly turning boost up, just monitor your low pressure fuel sensor, ideally you want to be above about 50 psi at the HPFP inlet. If you're dipping down and/or your fuel trims are looking positive at higher RPM, or (worst) your A/F target is a little leaner than you want... definitely past time to upgrade the low pressure side.
