Hi everyone, last season I had the opportunity to get into a group buy being run locally for a big brake kit. I had never heard of the company at all, and I was hesitant at first to commit to it but i’m now very happy that I did so. One of the reasons that swayed my decision was that quite a few local guys began to run them in the regional racing league CSCS that we have here in Ontario. They were pretty extensively tested on track and held up very well. Zero issues reported.
This is a relatively new company that runs out of New Jersey and ships from Taiwan. The kit I purchased was their 6 Piston 356mm BBK that comes with a 2 piece rotor, stainless lines, the calipers of course and their own pads. They offer a few different ones. Let me also note, these are NOT some eBay or Alibaba brakes. These are made solely by ProdigyWerks. Feel free to contact them and ask about them.
My initial impressions were that they were packaged really nicely and securely. No shipping damage at all. The finish was very good on the calipers and they were very lightweight, far lighter than my OEM 135i Brembos. During install, everything fit perfectly and it went without a hitch. I previously had the stock brake lines so the stainless is a nice upgrade. All of the fittings were high quality, the hardware supplied was great, bracket fit perfectly.
During the bed in process is when I noticed the difference in braking. The OEM Brembos are good, but the increased rotor diameter was clearly needed because these just felt so much more powerful. Brake pedal feels extremely good, very modular, probably due to the stainless lines. Once I get to the track this summer, as we’re in Canada and it’s a bit cold, I can really beat on them. I would obviously recommend a dedicated track pad for track use, the ones supplied are for street use mainly but actually bite extremely well with the same dust levels as OEM. I’ll be running the G-Loc R10 track pads and will report back. I’d highly recommend trying them out or at least contacting them to get information if you are looking for a BBK as these are a great price as well. Several hundred cheaper at least than the big names.
I think they are releasing a carbon ceramic rotor this year as well if I’m not mistaken. If I win the lottery I’ll grab some and review them as well.
