I realize this is a packaging constraint and probably has minimal benefits, but simply for the sake of discussion, has anyone run a pre-fmic BOV and compared recovery times? Dumping air that has been cooled and has saturated the fmic a bit seems wasteful if there was room to discharge hot air instead.

Also, perhaps the more noticeable difference would be discharge times, I'd think that the turbo would get slightly faster relief with the bov located on the hot side of the intercooler.

Anything is worth a shot! I think you made some great points but to Play Devils advocate your going to be Reliving pressure from the entire charge pipe so air from the post IC would be let out.. Kinda like a balloon, you can't say oh I just want to let this section of the balloon out lol.. It all wants out quick!
Second you have to remember you need to run a long mani source to it which shortest is best..
Third is and I can't answer this but I know the freq of the "wave" will have a lot to play in it.. I do know that most manufacturers are installing the BPV into the compressor housing and you can't get much closer to that lol.. So maybe it has good merit.. I think you should make this your weekend project and let us know how it goes lol.. Best case would be a tial bung on the hot side end tank of the IC!

I usually always run Tial's on the hotside unless there is a space constraint that doesn't allow it. The turbo is what you are trying to protect, why would it go anywhere else than nearest the turbo, that's where it should be. Do you think BW and pretty much every factory turbo now has the DV in the comp housing just for fun? lol

I think it would be doable on the hot side end tank somehow.. Never an area I just stared at to think if it would work but my memory said it could work! Lol
