Nexsys Motorsport N54 Ignition Coil Upgrade Kit

Long time reader, first time poster.

I thought I'd go to the effort of making an account to warn members about Rob Gale / blue lightning, you will lose 10 years of your life from stress alone if you try to help this man, he has been kicked from all of owners groups that I use regularly.

List of some particularly famous RG events:

Convinced his DA905RS turbos are not Chinese.
Reckons you need closed deck to run hybrids because his local mechanical said so.
Bought a BPM4 ekp module to run mhd stage 2.
Fit a 12v bilge blower to his airbox duct to help with intake temps.
Headgasket leak putting 4 pints of water into his exhaust that magically fixed itself when he realised n54 headgaskets don't fail


Maybe someone here can save this man, I wasn't worthy

We have a version for the stock valve cover that will be available for pre-order tomorrow and will begin shipping mid-late February! Pictures coming shortly!

On the stock N54 coils I ran into misfires at 560 whp above 5200 RPM with a 0.022" gap. Car runs out clean on more boost now with the same gaps on the B58 coils.

Those type of gains are unlikely unless you're experiencing misfires.

They do fit perfectly after simple one time 1min modication. They tap on the sparkplug just like the OEM coils do and are the cleanest setup as you don't need a bracket or modify the engine cover.

Maybe your information/experience around using these coils is out dated?

Buy whatever solution you like. They all work fine. There are severals cars doing 650whp+ on the stock Eldors so any coil perfoming above that grade is more that suitable for the job.

To finish it; There are a lot of N54's running R8 coils that have been proven to be reliable Go ask Wedge what he recommends to put in.

I've been a lurker for quite some time and most of you keep looping in the below noted scenario most of the time. Person after person have collided with most of you on these forums yet nothing was learned.

Just to be clear, the following just happened;
- Person X started bashing an alternative solution.
- Person Y suggested person X is providing false information. Backed with concrete information, personal experience and one of the most popular tuners.
- Person X and Z have nothing more to add and now resort to downvoting and telling off people.

Total lack of ability to have a proper discussion on a discussion forum.
You better check a few posts back who the 2 persons where that started ranting about R8 coils. Don't be suprised by a strong reaction if you are posting strong, and especially false, allegations.

There is nothing wrong with the Nexsys solution. Hell, if you don't care about the cosmetics, it's probably the best solution you can get at the moment. However, it's not justified to downplay alternative solutions with false information.

So... I'm "I-was-born-literally-yesterday" new here, and honestly I'm still learning... But I think what you're arguing and what you think you're being bashed for are two different things here...

There's absolutely no denying that that using R8 coils produces amazing results as evidenced by da interwebs and your buddy (we all have a buddy; our buddies know everything... why are we even here?), but the "issue" is the philosophy in their use. Now I could be completely wrong - so someone kindly correct me if that's the case - but R8 coils essentially work by failing primarily in their intended use and discharging its electrical load secondarily as a very well designed failsafe which is where you and the homies profit. The B58 coils simply succeed in their primary use as a semi-OEM solution, and on top of that, they offer better results if @bahn's fake-news-ass research is to be believed.

In my Simple Rick mind, that makes the B58's the superior choice between the two, AND Nexsys' solution sets us up to try to run whatever superior coil comes out for the S58 in our N54/55's in the future. That makes me happy. Let me be happy, @Lightning.

I currently have the PR coil set-up and haven’t experienced any issues with it...Besides the shear bulk of the setup and if one fails you basically have one source for parts.
Having a “OEM”ish solution that holds up to the added performance modifications to me makes sense. As for the cost I can look past knowing this was designed and an priced in what has become a ever declining platform.
Definitely have no issue supporting small business owners. Lol if any of y’all come to Houston send your girls “or yourself” to my nail salon . Ok the girlfriend runs it I just pay the bills.

I can't even find the octagon anymore on mobile. Used to be able to, but updates and such have made it difficult. Only way I find it is if somebody posts and gets bumped up to "new posts".
Sucks because I feel I'm missing a lot of the action.
