This is basically a FabFactory manifold knock off from sheet metal. Lets just put it out there LOL
The devil is always in the details. Forward facing manifolds are not new or unique to one company, and I believe the Chinese manufacturer of the Sharp manifold was actually the first to make one for the N54 anyways. FF made an awesome manifold, but saying any other FF manifold is a knockoff is like saying PR hotside inlets are a knock off of BMS DCI's because you remove the stock intake box and have two cone filters.

Do you own 1 of the 25 FF manifolds that were produced? Cause if you are looking at the "details" then it is more than obvious.

... we optimised this manifold for the n54 motor and should see significant gains in the mid and top end, so it doesn't fall over like it does now after 6000rpm...

Is there really that much optimization you can do on a forced induction car? If it were NA I would think runner length and plenum size would be a big deal, but in our cars, doesn't the cam and cylinder head profile dictate the power curve?

A tapered log style manifold with velocity stacks is a very common design. I really don't see how this is a copy. Even if it was, which I do not believe, who cares?

It's a shame that there are not more gains from intake manifolds on this platform.

The manifold will be of a ram tube design unlike the ff manifold which is more of a velocity stack type.

It will have the injector bosses there but not drilled out for people that dont want to run pi like myself and lots of others.

You could get them drilled and tapped for port meth easily.

It will have 3 x 1/8 npt connections under the manifold.

First things first lets see if all the hard work has paid off, judging by the special software he uses it should show gains from mid to high rpm

Will you be testing this to see if there are horsepower gains before releasing it?

Attaboy. That's smart thinking.

I own one of the FabFactory manifolds and I have seen the new one Marty wants to release and they are not the same. His manufacturer didn't want to take a close look at the FF as they really do know what they are doing. They have ignored direct requests to build an FF style intake for many years now, me among them. Continual hounding from Marty has produced some action.

Aussie made availability without the exchange rate, shipping and duty.

Keen to see if there is a difference in performance.

As seen by the ff manifold there are gains to be had but i think this one will make the gains where the ff lacked, well thats the theory behind this one.

With a ported head and cams I think this manifold will shine above the rest.

Definetly, i won't hold back any results.

Even if it makes the same as ff, it will be worth the weight saving and the customizability.

Biggest thing is less weight, less weight less heatsink, less heaksoak more power earlier.

Would I able to get your unit and use it with my current port injection set up from fuel it that I use with stock manifold...?

Possibly, but it would space the manifold out to far I think and make fittment rather hard

No way it's going to be lighter than the stock manifold and I don't believe it's beneficial to have a giant heatsink warming up the charge air.

I took the comparison as to against the FF manifold, not stock.

The problem with stock manifolds is they eventually split when running high boost, just like the factory charge pipe under extreme conditions especially when running single turbo at 30psi +.

Here in oz our ambient temps are over 100f 6 months of the year.

I had one split on me during a backfire which is very uncommon, this was what made me switch to the ff manifold which is insane and works very nicely especially when running a phenolic gasket.

The ff almost made me abandon this project but after looking at the ff I thought there was room for improvement and I wanted something lighter and something that retains even less heat, when ff decided to close shop I decided to keep going.

I would dare say this is going to be the lightest or one of the lightest alloy manifolds on the market and hopefully won't need a phenolic gasket to help keep the heat out but it wouldn't hurt to run one in hotter climates like ours.

I done testing a while back on the ff manifold and ff posted them up so there are large gains to be had over the factory manifold and until you fit one to your own car you just wont believe the difference they make.

I should have some new pics soon.

Can you link to the large gains with the FF IM? I thought they were very minimal and not a great bang for your buck?

I'm guessing the factory IM is not super limiting, other than it's structural strength, and you probably really need a built head to see the gains from an aftermarket IM such as this style. Perhaps I am wrong or you need to be above say 700whp to see gains?

I was just going to ask if you were going to offer a phenolic gasket. Make it an option for $$$ and make some margin on it. I assume most will opt for it.

The results are on bummer boost and pretty sure ff posted them here.

25rwk is nothing to sneeze at for just a manifold change and increases with more boost.

I could offer a gasket but you guys already have a good one so me making one would be me ripping off someone else's hard work and thats not what I would do, just bad business practice.

Evolution of speed one is cheap and it works.
