4 year old project . Should be great for N55 and controlled by split second.

Why does it look like you have both an E-series and F-series HPFP sistered together there? How the hell is that possible?

nice thought about that for the N55, but decided to use the S55 dual pump. The N54 pumps are less expensive though. And you probably wouldnt need the Split second if they are mated to time the stokes to the N55 pump lobe. Which i also have 4 stroke pump lobe for the N55.

nice adapter for that though.

I also have Rail adapters and lines for that setup if you need them.

Apologies on jumping on your thread. I just don’t have the time to pursue this. I was just hoping maybe someone will jump on this.

Any progress on dual pumps ? I looked in to that also and adding 3rd n54 pump but Im sure we are not there yet. Unless the cost will go way down. Also would be hell to controll everything.

Let me know if you want to work on this I could help you with that.

Thanks!

This is pretty cool for the N55 guys. S55 dual pump with an N54 attached to the end would work the same as the above, no extra difficulty as the MEVD DME can control the 2x S55 pumps, and an AIC would still just control the N54 pump.

I can control 2x N54 pump on the N54 DME, once I start digging into more MEVD code I may be able to get it to control an extra N54 style pump as well.

Jake, what do you think about controlling both pumps with the one VCV output and just adjusting the flow table to command less duty cycle to compensate for the double pumps?

I have some concerns with doing this across the two different style pumps, as the N55 style relies on the vcv to the output of the cam position sensor. All MEVD should be able to control 2x of the N55 style pump with some minor changes. I'm also unsure how I feel about have both run constantly.

I would need to experiment some and see how rail pressure looks with an N55 style pump perhaps running on an N54, without the feedback of the cam position sensor. Initial thought is it would be pretty choppy. N54 style pump does not need this sync due to it being a rotary style.

FYI, I'll try to find the post but there are a few guys running the F series style XDI pump on early E series N55s. The VCV harness with an adapter is connected to the F series style pump and is controlling flow well enough even without syncing the pulses.

If that the case . Housing could be made to run 2 pumps on single lobe and be more bolt on instead of using N55 or S55 vacuum pump housing.
