Does anyone know where I can find the information for the ignition coil engine harness electrical connector, part number 12-52-7-519-996? I'm specifically trying to obtain it directly from the manufacturer. It appears to be the Lear Corporation, but I can't find anything that can direct me to this plug showing on their website or catalogs. Are there any other manufacturers that make a good replica? I've looked at TE, AMP, Phoenix, and Molex and haven't seen this plug anywhere. I've seen it close on Kostal's catalog but it was only a 2 pol version. Any help would be much appreciated!

And to answer questions I know will already come up- yes I'm aware I can simply buy the part from a vendor for $5/plug. I'm more interested in making my own wiring harnesses and want to be able to source the female and male sides of this connector. I've looked at both Precision Raceworks and Nexys' connectors from their kits and there is no information on them besides their respective logos on them. But I figure they must be getting them from somewhere, right?

So far I've been able to source the connectors for almost every other sensor connection under the hood directly from the manufacturers, and this is the only one I can't find.

Unfortunately I don't have anything to share with plug part numbers, but that's awesome you've been able to track down what most of them are!

If you have them, would you mind sharing mfr & p/n for the male and female plugs for:
-diverter valve
-pressure converter (boost solenoid)
-MAF sensor

I don't have any need for these now, but if/when I upgrade the turbo I might.
Thanks!

No worries, it's been a TON of hours searching online and occasionally checking my physical connectors. If you look up Hirschman automotive and browse their SealStar 1.2 connectors, most of those are found under our hoods.

The MAF, MAP, and TMAP all use the same 4-way connector 805-122-541.

The 2-way and 3-way connectors also are used on other sensors. If doing the oil pressure sensor on the oil filter housing, use Code B style, not Code A as the keying is different. Code A does however work perfectly with B58 coils šŸ˜

While on the Hirschman site you can also look at the protective caps, which I also opted for to act as a strain relief and clean up the harness look since they're designed to attach the currogated tubing as well. If replacing the tubing if yours is brittle and broken, the connectors use 4.5mm ID 7mm OD tubing. I bought a roll off eBay.

Their SealStar 2.8 3-way connector should be for the high pressure fuel rail. I have a set ordered so I'll let you know if that doesn't pan out the way I thought it would lol.

The diverter valve and boost solenoid both have the same connector, so that's two birds with one stone. Unfortunately they're not made by Hirschman so sourcing it has been difficult. I know BMS uses something for the JB4 harness but it always felt kinda cheap/Chinese to me. The original manufacturer is Kostal but I can't find that anywhere. Next up is a Bosch connector that you can buy but I'm trying to operate off of free samples here lol. That pretty much left me with using TE Connectivity and I've ordered a couple different styles to try out. I'll let you know which one ends up working the best for me. I'm 99% sure any standard EV1 style connector would work fine but I like to explore the options lol

The best part of doing the plug changes is that you can refresh your terminals and have it all new again. Most of the BMW specs for the terminals is for silver (Ag) plating. I decided to use gold instead for it's corrosion resistance even though it has less conductivity than silver. If this causes any issues I'll simply switch back to silver since I ordered gold and silver versions of the terminals to be used.

For sure! I just hated feeling helpless about the connectors/engine harness since there's not much info out there about reasonable replacement parts, so I started digging into everything. A lot of my connections had exposed wire stranding so being able to clean it up has been nice, and I've noticed the car runs better too. Funny that it runs right when it's getting the proper signals lol
