S65 + blower + meth + 6mt. Mainly for the resale value and headache free(in theory). 650whp/400wtq @ 8500 rpms.

http://gintani.com/product/gintani-e9x-m3-stage-2-5-sc-kit-intercooled/ <--something like that.

A blown S65 does not get much more simple imo. Every day power.

I looked into an M3 as I am on my 3rd 335i but the lack of torque is such a joke. Also even if you fix the rod bearings, once the blower is putting pressure on the crank you will start taking out your front main bearing. If you want a supercharged V8 buy a CTS-V. Spending $8k to make 400 ft lbs is embarrassing.

Luckily this isn't BB so Sticky won't jump on here to talk about how great his M3 that doesn't run is.

I was just telling Barry today, while we were cursing at something on the E89 Z4, "I should have just bought a Vette." My dad's a vette guy. I think the new stuff is cool, but I'm just not a vette guy. Plus I enjoy the thrill of building the car. And at 3,100 lbs with as low a CoG as the Z4 has, when I'm done I think this car could be a monster. Maybe. Just maybe.

The N54 platform is a BMW modder's dream - just look at all the aftermarket development going on, and the kind of talent floating around sharing information. BMW guys have always had performance car capability, but not near supercar capabilities.

One more observation - you say "keep it simple" but you want to run two fueling systems (gas and meth). I think with the new flexfuel system that just came, you can seriously keep it simple. Just upgrade your lines (and LPFP if you're an E82/E90), and run whatever fuel you can get. I'm not crapping on meth, but adding meth and "simple" don't go together in my book.

Pretty much what I wanted. It was a GT-R then an S8, both tune only. S8 is the better daily driver and more subtle in appearance but just as fast, which is why I sold the GT-R.

Influenced by European availability of six+ cylinder turbo engines with AWD, which is not well covered in right hand drive Merc/BMW - I would not now consider RWD to go fast in a wet climate, but did get near to buying N54 335i instead of GT-R in 2009.

My BMWs have not remotely been 11 second machines (2xE46 M3, N55 335i).

Start with the right car - my GT-R depreciated less than the costs of getting a Subaru into the 11s and keeping it running.

Mostly for me it is a story of starting with good displacement and good sized factory tutbos. Saves so much hassle.

I would have gotten the 550 xdrive. V8 biturbo and I love AWD where I live. Tune, intercooler, chargepipe and an intake and I’d be happy at 600whp

Everytime this goes into my mind why I didn't get the last M3 "13 with V8, but when I look at the experience in mechanics, electronics, and turbo stuff I learned while trying to fix my 335i. I appreciate what I learned from this community ( n54/n55/ all bmw forums) which to me overvalue anything else. At the end of the day there will always be a next car/project.

p.s: When I was car shopping there was a 2013 335is [grey] in the dealership I believe it was n54/dct.:nomouth: But hey new models are coming. //no regrets, yet.

I also love the knowledge I have gained by owning this car and would never want to give it back, lol. The older CLS63 AMG looks beautiful and don’t hear of many problems with it. I love the thought of a bi turbo v8!!!
