Finally got my block on Friday, waiting on gaskets and bearings but I decided to pull the trigger on getting my head ported.

Looks awesome! I see the channels milled into the top of the sleeves, did you say what type of head gasket you're going to run? Also, I can't remember, did you have that block re-sleaved as well or just closed deck?

Hi. I didn't do a re-sleeve. I did the closed deck with "O" ring groove for coper wire, for the head gaskiet I think I'll go OEM with the Custom Age 625+m studs.

I'm going to be sending the head off to VAC soon, i'd like to get the

"VAC Motorsports Combustion Chamber Modification Service, BMW S55" done as well,​

Anyone have any experience with this mod? Is there a notable performance increase?​

Finally got done putting together this crate to send the head off to VAC! my carpentry skill aren't as bad as I thought!

I bolted the head to the bottom of the box, chopped an old valve cover in half, kept and installed the half covering the bridge for protection and also filled up all the remaining space with foam, should be nice and secure.

Freshly powder coated aluminum valve cover, point to note! The PCV valve cap tingy supplied is rubbish, you’ll have to spend $25 for an original ( the diaphragm is properly sealed) which just presses in. I also opened it up and stuffed all the cavities and passages with SS wool (pot scrub) to ensure any entrained oil is knocked out of the gas stream.

Just realized new blocks don’t come with the oil galleries plugged!

The largest intercooler on the market is the Wagner but for $1500…..found this Chinese version which is actually even larger for $500! Went ahead and modified it to take -16AN fittings and lines.

I have seen videos where racers switched back from bigger 3rd party intercoolers back to stock, because the stock version just works great. So keep that in mind with this. I hope this one is good.

Test fitting dual oil pumps and oil pan to N55 crank case , All holes align like they’re supposed to.

This suction pipe for the scavenging pump actually fits tightly into the oil drain for the rear turbo! BMW again . I’m happy I had the machine shop properly mill it out like OEM instead of drilling and tapping for a fitting.

Oil pan freshly painted with transmission thermostat mounted.

Four pin two piece crank hub upgrade purchased from an English company for half the price I’ve seen them for in the US.

I should receive it in the next two weeks, will post some more pictures then.

Pulled some images off eBay, build quality looks very good.

I was leaning toward the VTT one because of the "no drilling required" feature but I don’t like the fact that it retains the OEM oil pump drive gear, in my opinion the engineering isn’t quit finished yet.
