Has anybody ran E98 in our motors? I'm thinking 11.1 or 12.1 cr big turbo 72mm+ e98 build would be nuts.
I use it only for mixing with 93 octane since I can’t get E85 in my area any more. Never tried it straight up.
Less may well be more. Higher ethanol content gives a lower autoignition temperature that may not be offset by the latent heat of vaporisation. Combine with higher boost and/or leaner lambda because you are no longer knock limited and you could have preignition.
Jake,Where do you buy from? And does it get delivered?
Jake,
I buy 5 gallon cans of VP Racing Fuel E98 from K & G Speed Associates, 2343 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA (behind Nicholas Smith Trains). Call first to make sure they have it in stock (610) 359-1616. Last time I purchased it was about $40 cash ($8/gallon). I think VP would deliver the cans, but it’s very pricey.
wouldn't E100 for fuel use be denatured though?
Thanks Jeff! May need to start doing this or ordering 50 gallon drums. I don't mind picking up 5 gallon cans though.
The exxon on 202&1 has e85 again, it actually tested as e87 yesterday. I have 2 55gal drums of sunoco e85r at home in case they have issues againThanks Jeff! May need to start doing this or ordering 50 gallon drums. I don't mind picking up 5 gallon cans though.

People were caught at cancun resorts mixing ethanol/ methanol for home brew liquor in bars!E98 is denatured by 2%
E100 is illegal as it is drinkable and as such subject to alcohol/sin taxes. It is essentially everclear.
