So I have seen a number of threads on coilovers regarding raw performance, this generally means ride comfort is disregarded entirely. But what would you consider the most comfortable coilovers that still handle pretty well for people who put comfort slightly above handling performance?

I love my Bilstein PSS, for the money they are a steal. I am as low as I like and it handles way better than the stock Sport suspension.

Are those B14 or B16? I already have a solid passenger mount that came with my ST kit as well as the 034 driver mount, so there is already a bit of harshness to my car. I'm trying to avoid making the ride any worse, but would like to eliminate a little wheel gap at the same time but don't want the car to handle like shit either, would like an improvement in that area.

Bilsteins PSSX run very low. On the highest setting I was a 1/4" lower than my current TCKlines on the highest setting. I didn't like them so preloaded as it seemed the rear end tended to rebound too quickly causing some mid acceleration traction loss. Now with that said, they were an awesome setup that went 50k miles without any sense of wear in strength. For the money they were VERY impressive. Even more so with some complimentary suspension upgrades.

That's about all I can add. Let us know which direction you go.

I actually re read what the goal was.

I'd try the KW Street Comforts. I've read nothing but good things about those but no personal experience.

That is what I currently have in mind. I'd need to sell my current setup which isn't installed yet, have heard they are a bit more 'racey' than I had in mind.

It's funny though because everyone that I know of with KW's complains about the ride quality. But there are so many variables and most never get the car corner balanced or setup ideally. It took about 5 adjustments sessions to get them where i wanted them. But I am no stranger to coilovers so I have a lot of practice and I can say these are the easiest to adjust so consider how they adjust before you buy.

My vote is for the Solo Werks S1 Coilovers (former KW engineers designed them). I gave them a shot, and at the price you can get them for, they have been fantastic. I had the sport suspension stock, and found it a little too harsh for daily driving. The Solo Werks are a progressive spring with matched damper. The ride is great for my daily commute, but the car still handles awesome when I push it. I also have an e93 btw (rear shock install is a pain).

Okay so I just looked it up Solo-Werks, and it was started by Matt Behrnes and Glen Messinger, and neither of them are engineers. And both only worked in marketing and sales at KW.

You have shown that they worked for KW at one point. Isn't it possible that they took some engineers with them, which is common in the manufacturing world.

I don't really care who designed them. They perform well and are at a great price point, that's all that matters to me.

Well if you don't care, that is fine and it's your money. And you can assume whatever you want to make you feel better about your purchase but what you cited others said, and what Modbargains has on their site is bullshit and that is all I am pointing out.

I'm not assuming anything to make myself feel better. Why are you getting so bent out of shape about this?

I'm not bent out of shape at all, it just annoys me when people pass along misinformation and then try to justify it with assumptions.
How do we know your not passing along misinformation? Do you have any sources to site to the contrary?

I just showed you, neither of them are engineers as far as I can tell from their professional profiles on linkedin and elsewhere. What more information do you need?
That shows nothing. Just because the owner of a company is not an engineer doesn't mean they can't employ engineers. None of the manufactures I have worked for are owned by engineers. Your argument is just as strong as mine and based on assumptions as well. I can fully acept that they may not be designed by former KW engineers; it doesn't affect my opinion of the product at all. Without proof either way, I don't see why you feel the need to assume that your assumptions are better than mine. I remember why I always used to lurk the forums now.
