Many of you saw the previous iteration of the manifold CES was using from SteedSpeed here: https://bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads/ces-motorsport-steedspeed-twin-scroll-manifold.2179/

And now we are breaking the newest shots of the latest design. All sales will be through John @ CES Motorsport, the kit as a whole is set at an unknown price and the manifold by itself will likely be in the $1400 price range.

The test car is running a GTX turbo, but by looking at it I'd figure other twin scroll/divided housing turbos will fit as well like an EFR. It is expected to see 400wtq+ by 3k rpms

is this the same design as Motiv"s? hopefully its cheaper

They are the same manufacturing type, this discussion goes round and round. But SteedSpeed made all the HPF manifolds for the E46 M3 and other platforms. When the N54 came out, Motiv revised that process and that is what you have seen. And now Steed has their own for the N54.

N54 community is so F'n lost in who is actually a reputable company, and who will be here in 5, 10, 15 years. Steedspeed superceeds every log style manifold ever made for the N54, period, without evening looking. And of course everyone's comment is "I hope it's cheaper." Ask for a cheap piece of shit, get a cheap piece of shit. Respect companies that have been doing this gig longer than you could afford your Civic priced 335 :rage:

See this is why we roll with you guys. You fucking plain get it. *EDIT* This platform has 2-3 companies that innovate the rest sit around, and til those companies float products down the river, they scoop them up and copy them. Shawn, the 335 is new civic is what I have been saying for 3 years now. I cannot even answer the phone anymore, our office manager has to screen calls, and send people to email because the amount of "how many much horsepowers can I get for the cheapest price" calls is staggering...

To me the reason this is interesting is the compact cast design. This is reminiscent of the HKS 2JZ twin scroll cast manifold from the 1990's. They are unicorn manifolds now. Everyone started abandoning them for these wonderful pieces of equal length art we are familiar with now days. Then, a few enterprising fellas decided to test a Full Race equal length twin scroll twin wastegate manifold against one of those HKS designs. As a surprise to everyone the HKS manifold was hands down better than any equal length they could find, on spool, power under the curve, and peak power. They attributed this to the short runners that lost very little heat, and the cast design that retained heat better inherently. Now if you try and buy one of those HKS manifolds you pay out the nose for them.

This manifold looks VERY similar to that HKS design........

Short runner > long runner for a street car every single time. Carefully designed equal length for race cars looking for optimized top end power are 100% superior for that use. All these million mile length long runner top mount N54 kits are so inefficent, and laggy its not even funny. Thats why they need these massive turbos to make anysort of decent power

There are a lot of different designs,material,and costs, that put these manifold were they seem to be a start selling point. There have been about 4 or so log style that have popped up. It's great that it gives the 3 series a wide range of options, it's the other guys (535) that lack the goodies. Really tho, as VTT ,and MMP, have proven,that twins can make plenty of power .It's the torque that's going to prevail on the street. Now if we had an Autoboughn...

I know some of the history behind this one as well, but this is just a single scroll design with a t3 flange, but yes the shape does seem similar.

Speedtech has a similar set up out for F Series N55s.

That means this thing would be CNC'd? Jesus, I thought this was just a pre-production 3d printed mockup.

But, from a thermal management and runner length standpoint this is closer to a cast iron manifold than a ball of snakes.

I always had the idea that these log style manifolds weren't as goods as equal length art pieces most people have. This twin scroll option will be a great replacement for the on3 manifold I have
