Paradigm Engineering's billet BMW crank seal guard/serpentine belt protection plate prevents pieces of the serpentine belt from being sucked into the oil pan. Serpentine belt failure on the BMW N54/N55/S55 platform is extremely common, as the serpentine belt can fail for various reasons. In the event of a serpentine belt failure, fragments of the belt may enter into the oil pan through the crank seal. This can cause severe engine damage, if not total engine failure.
Each Paradigm engineering crank seal guard is CNC milled from a solid block of 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and then anodized for corrosion resistance. The result is a much tighter tolerance and higher durability than typical bent or welded options available on the market.
