What did become of this? It was a fresh approach.

Its still a work in progress, unfortunately time has been at a premium but it will get done. The differential is fully fitted and only needs some bracing on the rear mount to be completed. The custom dss axles fit perfectly. The next step will be to get the dct in and take measurements for a custom drive shaft. Most likely will go with a carbon unit from dss as well

Well after a very long hiatus and a motor swap on a supercharged S2000 my car is finally back up on the lift. Pulled the rear subframe out, completely stripped it and finished the welding/bracing for the camaro ss differential. She's up at the powdercoaters now and should done next week. After that the rear end will go back together with billet subframe mounts, m3 and spc arms and spherical bearings to replace all the oe rubber bushings. As well as the camaro ss differential and the custom DSS 5.9 axles

P ut some hours in yesterday. Pressed in all new bearings and mounts on the subframe. Turner billet mounts, bimmerworld spherical camber arm bearings and bimmerworld spherical trailing arm bearings. No more sloppy rubbers.

BMW 335i M3 converted
What's up everyone, I'm currently collecting parts to convert my 2009 335i 6AT to DCT. I've been re searching for awhile and feel like I have a pretty good grasp on most of what's involved.
Currently have on hand a 335is dct transmission out of a 2011 w/44k miles, the entire shifter assembly , with wiring pigtails, and a mfactory 8 bolt lightweight flywheel. Still haven't pulled the trigger on a rear differential, transmission harness and possibly a steering wheel.

I have some questions that I'm hoping some of the more experienced can help me with. I would like to upgrade the diff to something more stout instead of just a standard 2.56 with a lsd. The concencus seems to be that anything within 10% of the factory is OK. What I'm not clear on is if the performance is negatively affected the further from 2.56 you get? I have my eye on a 2.77 setup but don't want to put the work in if I'm going to end up with something that just works mediocre.

Thanks for any insight, hoping to use this thread to document the conversion and ask questions over the winter
