Sounds like an n54 ;)

Enjoying the build. I bet it is going to be fun to drive!

Sounds like a friggen diesel ;) Ah, n54 life. It is nice and quiet, though, otherwise.

I'll be putting all the trim back on under the hood once it's all sorted out.

I found an oil drip on the bottom of the turbine housing... the center section is dry, so not sure where it's coming from. I'll have to watch it next time I run the car.

I need to go pickup a liter (and hopefully only a liter) of atf1 to finish filling the trans. $25/qt at advance auto.. robbery. I could get a 5 liters for $65 from Amazon, but I likely don't need that much.

I already added 5 liters to the trans on the bench, then added another 6 last night through transfer pump. No idea how much I lost through the spill.

Just topped off the trans and gave it a second oil fill. Front driveshaft back in place. I'm going to polish the headlights in the next few days and get the front back together, then test drive. It's been so long.

Anyway, anyone want to play 'guess what these are from?' I have these leftover, though I haven't put the front bumper, headlights, or trim back on yet.

The screws are to the front fender possibly. The two nuts hold down the power steering bracket. Not sure on the bolt with big washer. Little one looks like to thermostat to water pump.

I think two of the left screws go here. Not sure about the rest.

Nope, those are black screws, have those separate. These might be for trim pieces, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I labeled just about everything else, so they'll hopefully be obvious as I put the trim bits back on...

One of the bolts and one of the nuts are for the water expansion tank.

No idea what the other nut/bolt is for.

The screws are for the for the front bumper where it mounts to the front fender. Thats why it doesn't have the threads all the way up, its to help locate the bumper to fender properly.

This.

Ah right, I remember those now. So now I'm down to a single nut and bolt that I'm not sure where it came from :)

Actually, think those are from the vac canisters.

I love it when there are no extra parts :)

I also got the turner left side snorkel. I need to get some bulb seal for it. Modified it a bit.

Engine cover going back on as well. Just going to let assembly oils burn off first.

Going to drive it for an hour or so on the 2nd break in oil, then pull off the valve cover and make sure the head studs are torqued to where they should be still. I have a fresh valve cover to go on after as well.

Ugh, thanks to fcpeuro I rebuilt my alternator with the wrong regulator. Looks like I won't be doing any driving this weekend :(

yeah think so, getting 2e97
What exactly is the 2e97 code ?
I know some people switched out alternators and got stuck with a code but charge rate was fine. Should check with a meter and see whats going on.
I had an alternator recently go out on my X5 and everything went crazy. Headlights looked like a cop car flashing and xmas tree in dash and trans was stuck in 3rd gear.

I think the regulator is possibly a bit too high, not sure. I'll see if I can find my obd adapter later and pull the p code, because apparently there are multiple reasons for 2e97. Waiting for FCP to get back to me, but it's weekend. Hopefully they'll make it right, though its been like 8 months since I rebuilt the alternator. It just hasn't been in a running car until the other day.

New valve cover and checked torque on the head studs. Got some bead seal for the snorkel. Just waiting on this regulator.
