Any updates on this?

Currently running a new hpfp and 525 pump. Curious to see if the 525 is operating as it should, and if there is room to grow.

what is going on here?

Looks strange. Cause it is a split of a second where the required boost drops and i though that the throttle closure is due to that event. Or DSC intervention. Just pointing it out.

Certainly, its predecessor -- the E36/8 Z3 Coupe -- was a bit of a skunkworks project. One of the reasons I so loved my '99 M Coupe!

OT: All Z's are basically mish mash of current gen and previous gen parts. E85 being the worst offender. Largely bespoke and sub-optimal rear end with a non-existent aftermarket yet the front end was E46 and little bits of E36 thrown in. Makes me very skeptical of the new Supra. Thing has stamped steel all over the rear end with a F8x rear active diff. Hmmm...

It would be nice if @jyamona could somehow add the LPFP sensor for E89 so we could log (not necessarily incorporate into the fueling system). I'd like to say this should not be a hard thing, but I've come to learn that most things that seem straightforward are not.

We stripped the harness from a 3 series to get the wires for the LP sensor and fished them through my Z4 harness. After plugging everything in to include the sensor, I modified a 335is bin file with my VIN number and flashed it to my car. Voilà... Low Pressure in the data logs.

According to @jyamona this can be toggled in the ECU, but everyone has been extremely busy and this modification is not a priority. It's not a difficult project if you have an old harness, fuel inlet with sensor, and the time to install it.

Very cool. So with the sensor installed, and the BIN file, does this mean that the car is also using the low pressure sensor data in its fuel logic? If so is this a good, bad, or indifferent thing? Having the log data, obviously a big plus.

Would be a good question for @jyamona as he understands the ECU logic. I'm just using it to see low pressure. PFA

I have an idea of the toggle used to enable the LP sensor, and if it's anything like the other pre-drive checks, then yes, the value of the LP sensor will be used and the PI control feedback enabled. Seeing the fuel pressure ourselves is obviously a good thing, but the PI control will be mostly an indifferent thing for most of us.

It is nice having PWM control of an upgraded primary pump though

Not sure if there is another switch to actually use the logic, but there definitely is one to indicate if the sensor is available. It might enable the whole logic by itself, but there is more to it than that. At the very least, psi/volt sensor conversion and PID tables are all zeroed out for it in the Z4 bins and the requests might need to be retuned (they're completely different than any other N54). That's not mention any diagnostics/monitors that may or may not need to go with it.

Should be doable as long as everything needed is found and set accordingly, otherwise 335is bin is already setup.

I've never seen an explanation of what the logic difference is between the E89 N54 sans sensor and all other N54s. The e89 still uses the same EKP setup, and there is PWM. Not sure what the logic does that incorporates LPFP sensor input.

They took something straightforward and made it complicated lol It should technically be more refined control of delivery and maybe power management. If anyone ever slapped a sensor on Z4 without using the feedback, might have a better idea if the delivery part is true.

Not sure if the calibrations are any different on Z4 EKP. I don't have a Z4, so haven't dug into it, just happened to notice what I do know from comparing 335is and Z4is roms previously.

So some people say that the Z4 is kind of like a "stage 2" E90 when it comes to LPFP. Not sure what that means, but I understood tuners could get more out of the stock Z4 LPFP setup than the E90. Someone can straighten me out on that. Really @jyamona should be able to give us a 5,000 ft view of the difference, and what happens when you go to a 335is BIN with an LPFP sensor on a Z4.

Checking to see if others have done the retrofit and any feedback? Anyone have the bin file and possibly instrucitons?
